Are Naturalization interviews only scheduled once the 3/5 year date has passed?

I know they can be submitted 3 months ahead but just wondering if they’re only scheduled beyond the anniversary date.

I remember reading somewhere that oaths can be administered only after the anniversary date (and some places have a same day oath)

Has anyone actually had an interview prior to their anniversary date?

In some really fast field offices, I could see it happening that people get an interview in that 3 month window (prior to their official anniversary date). And it makes sense that the restriction would relate to the oath ceremony only (as in that would have to take place after the anniversary date) because simply getting an approval at time of interview doesn't make one a citizen - only the oath taking ceremony achieves that.

Hello dear friend,

I filed the N-400 on February 14/2019 but, unfortunately, my case is delayed and pending due to security checkup. I also filed the Form I-130 for for my wife on October 30/2017 but it's still pending because of security checkup (same reason). I feel like I am a good person. I have earned my associate degree and as of right now, I am attending a nursing college to become a nurse. I have no criminal history and nor any traffic tickets. I and my wife are really depressed. Any ideas please!!

Have you called USCIS? Have you tried to find out what is the reason and what kind of delay it is?

Sounds like you should consult an attorney and/or seek the assistance of your federal senator.

Yes, I have called them so many times and they keep saying that my is delayed because of security checkup. USCIS mailed me a letter about four months ago and the letter said, "our record shows that your I-130 is pending adjudication. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time." However, I have been submitting inquiry every month and just about a month ago, USCIS mailed me another letter and it says, "Your case is currently delayed because the required security checks are still pending. we cannot make a decision on your case until we receive the results of these security checks." I am really frustrated and it's been over two years. I contacted my congressman about my cases just 20 days ago but I really don't know if the congressman's inquiry to USICS will affect or expedite my cases. Please help me out. My wife is really depressed and she cries on the phone almost every time I talk to her.
