Some excellent ideas are in here -- not (shallowly) solely to get votes, but to help traditionally ignored communities with real-life concerns.  Comments?

How Trump Can Triple His Support Among Black Voters In 2020

Willis L. Krumholz - January 17, 2020

[...] Deeper factors are at play in Trump’s growing black support, beyond a checklist of issues a Republican political consultant would cook up.

Much of Trump's rising support among black America is due to [...]

When restaurant-review cards ask for "any other comments?", I invariably write, "Brazil is experiencing severe economic problems."

Now back to topic, if anyone cares.

It is an interesting concept if you get past the hyperbole at the top of the article and work down a bit where he started to outline policy shifts that could, possibly, change the minds. Still the preception among blacks is that they strongly disapprove of Trump, that racism is in ascendency, and it is a bad time to be black I'm America. Telling congresswomen of color to "go back to where they came from" is not going to help that perception.

Why is it a bad time to be black ? Outline for my measurable qualifiers, that define what has happened since Trump took office that makes it bad to be Black.

so you got Zilch

I don't need anything, I am quoting a poll that shows from a campaign standpoint, Trump has an uphill battle.  Even the original pro Trump posting admits as much and gives Trump a possibile roadmap.

https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/nation/black-americans-say-trump-is-a-racist-and-they-fear-for-future-poll-finds/?amp=1

President Donald Trump made a stark appeal to black Americans during the 2016 election when he asked, “What have you got to lose?” Three years later, black Americans have rendered their verdict on his presidency with a deeply pessimistic assessment of their place in the United States under a leader seen by an overwhelming majority as racist.

The findings come from a Washington Post-Ipsos poll of African Americans nationwide, which reveals fears about whether their children will have a fair shot to succeed and a belief that white Americans don’t fully appreciate the discrimination that black people experience.

While personally optimistic about their own lives, black Americans today offer a bleaker view about their community as a whole. They also express determination to try to limit Trump to a single term in office.

More than 8 in 10 black Americans say they believe Trump is a racist and that he has made racism a bigger problem in the country. Nine in 10 disapprove of his job performance overall.

The pessimism goes well beyond assessments of the president. A 65% majority of African Americans say it is a “bad time” to be a black person in America. That view is widely shared by clear majorities of black adults across income, generational and political lines. By contrast, 77% of black Americans say it is a “good time” to be a white person, with a wide majority saying white people don’t understand the discrimination faced by black Americans.

I was conversing with a very liberal black man the other day.  I asked him if he was experiencing any racism nowadays.  He said nothing overt, but definitely racist stuff. (he is married to a greek lady)  I asked for examples.  The first thing out of his mouth was that after eating dinner at a restaurant, he and his wife were asked of they needed separate checks.  Is that racist?  I mean, of course HE knows they are married, but does a waiter/waitress not picking up on it mean they are racist?

If you look for racism in every little gesture you can find it. Rember Mr everything is racist.

And that’s how I see it, but I really wanted input from the darker side. I, too, have had people ask us if we wanted separate checks, and I never for a second thought about racism.  I simply said, “No, she’s paying, because I am a nation treasure!”

I'd seen the survey cited by 90DF, plus at least one other in which something like 30% of interviewed blacks viewed Pres. Trump favorably.  The conclusion is that even if the Pres. can peel off only another 8% of black voters (he got 8% in 2016), it means trouble for the Democrats.
