Delay after interview..two weeks now...San Salvador

My husband had his interview (San Salvador) exactly two weeks ago for his CR1, they said we would have gotten the passport back in the mail within 10 days. Now I emailed them and they're saying:

"We have reviewed your husband's case and noticed that his case is

undergoing administrative process at this time. As soon as this

process is complete, we will adjudicate and approve his visa."

What does this mean? Why is it that at other embassy's they approve the visa right there at the interview and you get your passport the same day and in El Salvador they're taking forever???

We were very anxious to get his passport pack so he could travel, and now they've already taken two weeks, and haven't even approved it yet!

What going on here???

Well from what I have read here, that does not sound very good. Adminstrative review is something that happens for some reason or another, and there is no way to find out when they will approve his visa and send it to him. All i can do is wish you both a very speedy review and that you have the visa ya pronto!!

How long did the administrative process end up taking? The exact same thing happened with me and my fiance. His visa got approved after a year of waiting for the process to get married and they finally told us 4 days and he could pick it up! 4 days went by and now two weeks later we're starting to realize how long this may take. We had the wedding announcements ready to print, the place scheduled for the wedding and everything. We just want to know how long others specifically in El Salvador have waited so we can at least have some idea. Thanks!
