My fiance has 3 kids ages 14 16 and 18. The 18 year old has TB, but she and the other  2 were issued their visas before we knew this. St. Luke's wants the other 3 to come back for additional testing. This has been a 4 year process for us.  The oldest son will stay there (with her mom) for treatment (which has already been started). The Visa agency that helped us through this said they can extend his visa process until his treatment is complete. I'm considering just flying the others here and skipping St. Lukes additional testing (since they already have their visas). I will seek testing and treatment once they arrive. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I would think that info has been added into the computer system and it would be in your best interest to follow thru with what the embassy asks

they could be turned away at POE

Right now the embassy is not asking anything,  its only the medical clinic.

YMMV

I'm assuming SLEC did not initially find anything with them. But they are now concerned (rightfully so) that the siblings may have been exposed to TB.

TB kills. IMO, the best thing is to get them rechecked before going on a tightly-closed space with many people, like a plane.

Nope.   Medicals already completed,  visas issued.

but i have seen a CR1 visa revoked (morocco)

stated by another VJ member and stamped as such.  so if the people involved test positive ,  then what happens?   St Lukes does not inform the embassy?  what would the point be of all this?

I don't know,  they have already been found negative.   I don't have a problem with an over abundance of caution and would recommend the OP follow up on this.   But as it relates to the visa, it's the consulates call not slec

YMMV

Very dangerous for everyone concerned. There are so many people, INCLUDING the people who are going to receive you and your children in the USA who will be affected. Are you thinking about this?

Also, there are various forms of TB. Was the eldest on the lung (pulmonary) or in another site? The former is highly infectious. The hospital that treats your children in the USA is duty bound to report to the CDC all contacts, etc. It will be a mess.

Getting an extention on the visa would be the wisest thing to do

Does the 18 year old have latent TB infection or  ACTIVE TB disease?

There is a HUGE difference.  Lots of Asians will test positive for latent TB, but it never activates and becomes contagious.  My ex wife had latent TB and nothing special was done other than annual x-rays.

Active TB in a healthy 18 year old can be treated with long term meds with a good outcome.

Yes it is active pulmonary TB. So do you know for sure that I can extend the other visas already issued?
