Case Status Update

Hi there, does any know how many times they update the case status before it is approved?  My status date had been stuck on 10/14/2019.  I just checked and it now reads 01/15/2020.  This would be the 3rd update since submitting forms for I-130 spouse on 07/24/2019.  Hoping it is a good sign.

It took us exactly 1 year to get approved.  Filed September 2016, got approved September 2017, then filed I-601a waiver later that year 2017, then again 1 year 2018 got approved, then Jan or Feb filed for NVC for interview/GC at consular in Mexico, then took us 11 months to get interview letter and his interview will be 2/12/20 which would have been 1 year from the notice that they received our NVC application for GC visa interview.  Good luck and now it is slower, than more than 3 to 5 years ago.  The trending now is up to 1 year waiting for everything pretty much.  For us, it is 1 year per application.  We are almost there and 4 more weeks to go for interview.
