Update:

hi guys, just a little update, my extension letter is expiring in August and I’m going ahead to apply for my Citizenship by the end of this month. I’m a Flight Attendant and with my extension letter expiring, I have just been terrified of losing my job.

Good luck to us all!

If/when the extension letter expires before your greencard and/or citizenship petition is approved, you just get an infopass appointment at your local field office and get a stamp in your passport. The i-551 stamp is the proof of your status in the country, just like a greencard and extension letter.

Update: Both my I751 and N400 got approved yesterday, a little over two weeks since my N400 interview. The oath ceremony notice already posted online for 2/25, which is less than 2 weeks away! That was a lot shorter than I thought I'd have to wait for everything to get resolved. I was mentally prepared to wait it out until the summer.

Looking back at everything, I'd say that my case was pretty straight forward. Just a few traffic citations and lost my green card, but no crimes, no divorces or anything like that. The only weird thing was that my biometrics for the I751 never came even after a year after filing. Once I filed the N400, everything else moved fairly quickly; biometrics was scheduled right away within the same month. Interview got scheduled 7 months later. The online personalized estimated case completion time was pretty accurate. Mine says completion March 2020.

I relied a lot on VisaJourney's immigration timeline to compare other applicants in my same area. Based on a few applicants who had filed their N400 a few months before me, I was able to estimate when I would get an interview, which I estimated to be either Dec 2019 or Jan 2020, so it was pretty spot on. It helped me a lot with my bouts of impatience regarding my case. The last few months of this process felt painfully slow and agonizing and I'm just so happy to put this all aside and never have to deal with USCIS again! Also very excited to finally be able to vote :)

Congratulations my friend. I'm so happy for you! Yes now no more uscis. Enjoy your new status and enjoy as many trips as possible with the passport that opens many doors to the world 😄😊

Noted, thanks for that. I'm submitting my N400 tomorrow because I did get a notice from our company about the expiration of the extension letter and mentioned to process it to avoid any fines on their end.

Which state are you in? Please make sure that the combo experiences are good in your state before filing your N400 while your i751 is pending. A lot of difficult experiences and huge delay in Seattle WA for instance for combo filers.

Read about it for the applicants in your state. Did you apply in November 2018?

Ours is WAC and we filed last Nov 2018. Thank you, I'll continue to research on visa journey regarding that part.

Hello,

WAC Office filer here.

- 90 Days window opened: 27 September 2019

- Application mailed: 30 September 2019

- Check Cashed: 7 October 2019

- Text Notice: 7 October 2019

- I-797 arrived by mail: 7 October 2019 (notice is dated 4 October 2019)

Since then I've heard nothing which I assume a good news... but I'm also anxious.

Question: By September 2020, I'm able to file for N-400, Application for Naturalization, am I correct?

Thank you.

I am still waiting. No movement after the fingerprinting. My 18 month extension expires in March, and I have scheduled for Info pass . Not sure if expired extension would trigger some action.

Hi, how is your case going now?

Hi Everyone! Glad to find a WAC thread. Here's our timeline:

Filed: 3/2/19

NOA/extension: 3/8/19

Bio: 5/7/19

After the bio appointment, nothing. Like others have also experienced, we too did not even get an update on our USCIS site to show that the fingerprints had been reviewed. It has just said "we received your case" from the beginning, with no updates.

Glad to hear we're not the only ones like that.

As were are approaching 1 year, I find myself thinking about it more and more!

We received a letter two weeks ago that our case was transferred to MSC for interview scheduling. The USCIS website still hasn't changed, still just says "case received."

Spoiler

12/18/2015- NOA 1

1/29/2016- NOA 2

2/18/2016- Letter from NVC saying they're forwarding to Guangzhou

3/4/2016- Received P3, returned it about a week later

3/22/2016- P4 email

5/12/16- Interview. Approved!

5/16/16- After a few days saying administrative processing, CEAC now says issued!

Additional snafu: my fiancé came over on his visa, but just a month later (and the day before we were going to get married) he had an emergency that necessitated him returning to China.  I contacted the Guangzhou consulate via their email system, provided the requested documents/proof, and he was granted a second interview for "reissuance."  He had to re-do the medical, redo the interview (bringing yet another copy of all of the things he had to bring the first time) and we were approved again!  He received what looked like a new visa in his passport, but the original 90 day countdown for marriage was still ticking.  He came back to the US and we got married right away!

8/22/16- Married!

AOS

9/30/16- Filed for AOS, EA, AP

10/6/16- NOA 1 for AOS, EA, and AP (USCIS case status website says case was received on October 4th)

11/9/16- Bio appointment

12/13/16- EA and AP approved!

no news... case status on website still says "fingerprint fee received..."

4/11/17- submitted online service request for case out of normal processing time (over 6 months)

5/2/17- USCIS website updated to "My card is being produced!"

5/10/17- Green Card received

ROC

3/2/19- Filed ROC

3/8/19- NOA/18mo extension received

5/7/19- Bio appointment

9/2/20- Interview scheduled for next month!
