Question for those who already received their Green Card

We had our AOS interview today and got approved.  The agent mentioned we should make sure her name is on the mailbox as they won't deliver a green card to an address where the person's name does not appear on it.

We rent an apartment.  Our box reads our last name but doesn't itemize each resident.  Do I need to stick something on the box that has my wife's name on it?  Or is the last name sufficient?

Has anyone had an agent say this to them before and does anyone have experience with this and can advise how best to make sure the green card actually ends up in our mailbox?  We don't want any unnecessary delays.

Maybe in Boston where the OP is from.  Here in Az,  I don't even have a name on our mailbox (street mailbox), not even the street, the the number.  I get mail for people who owned this place 12 years ago, and other mail.  Our Post office says EVERYTHING addressed to this address, regardless of the name, gets delivered.  LOL.

Congratulations on  your approval! We're in New Jersey and there is no name at all on our mailbox. My husband's green card was delivered with no problem at all.

My son's biometric appointment and Extension Letter during ROC process weren't delivered because of that.  Although BEFORE - everything , including our 2 conditional green cards and other documents from USCIS were delivered with zero issues.

I was told by a Tier 2 Immigration Officer over the phone, about this possible "non-delivery thing'. I wish I remembered his name - he was so helpful and even faxed me son's biometric appointment notice so it wasn't missed....

Anyway, we didn't do anything with our mail box, but we went to our local USPS Office and they added his name on their list or something. Since then - no issues, our 10 years green cards arrived just fine as well as other USCIS correspondence.

Congratulation on your approval!!!! :joy:

im going to guess its separate rules for separate postal offices. Where a name on the box is common in a certain area then the postal carrier is probably trained to only deliver items of this type when the name is on the box.

After work today I'll be stopping off at our local post office to get the skinny.  I'll engrave her name onto the box if I freaking have to.

After having some problems getting my wife's Social Security Card delivered (addressed to Anastasiia [my wife's maiden name]), we set the address on all AOS forms as

Anastasiia [my last name]

c/o David [my last name]

which didn't have any problems
