Part of the top of my hair cut off in passport picture

I'm trying to complete the application for the K1 Visa and everything is almost good to go, but I went to get my passport photo and some of my hair was cut off on the top of the picture. I have a pretty long afro so that's why, but will that be cause for denial if I submit the picture the way it is? Or should I just cut my hair down a bit and get a whole new picture? You can still see all of my face and most of my hair. This seems like a very specific problem so I don't know how many people would have experienced this, but hopefully I can get some advice.

It is the face that matters in the passport picture.  As long as  your face conforms to the template you are fine.

I believe the head must be situated in the center of the photo. I suppose if hair gets cropped, it's acceptable as long as you fit within the required parameters. The US Dept of State travel page has the right dimensions you need. Compare your photo with their. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I learned the hard way, I hope YOU don't have to. Advice: learn, learn, learn.

Your visa picture will be taken at the biometrics appointment prior to your interview.

Not necessarily true. It is totally dependent on what Embassy / Consulate is involved.

I was going to say that but all of the ACS locations were to be upgraded to fully digital biometrics by the end of 2019. ;)  Well according to the government.

Even if they were (I don't know the status of that goal), not all Embassies have ACS locations and some never will -- the worklload is too small to support one.
