Hi - sorry apparently I keep "hijacking" posts when I don't mean to. I'm new to these forums and I don't understand how they work yet.

My husband and I are filing our I-130 documents for both me and my 13 year old son to move to Houston, Texas. Since we're doing it online, we understand the process is a little different, and I was trying to find out exactly what the differences are.

We have a ton of evidence which is mostly on social media. Though I combed through some of these forums, they mainly deal with printed evidence that was mailed. Now that you can eFile and you can get archives/downloads of your information from Facebook/Instagram/Twitter, will the USCIS accept these downloads or does everything still basically have to be scans of what you would have sent in print, i.e. making collages of trip visits and submitting a .jpg of those instead of just uploading Instagram posts? Will they only accept screen caps of Messenger conversations or can you submit entire files, since our relationship history is our Messenger history - we call on Messenger, text each other every day, share photos, etc. etc. and so on.

Finally, passport photos - since I'm still living in Canada with my son, we don't need to submit photos yet as far as I can tell from reading other posts in here, but can my husband submit digital passport photos?

What I'm basically asking is if there are any components of the online application for the I-130 and I-130A that need to be submitted in the mail before they can start processing. Do they only want these forms or do they want the Affidavit of Support at this time as well? Does it matter?

Thank you all for your time and apologies if I inadvertently hijacked your thread in order to find out some information.

If you file online, nothing needs to be mailed.  Keep your creativity within the actual instructions.  The instructions tell you what to upload and file types accepted.

Personally, I recommend filing by mail.  There is no need for extensive communication evidence when petitioning a Canadian Spouse.  Note there will be separate petitions for spouse and stepchild.
