Yeah that's true. That's a big issue. Is it mandatory that I have to change my case? What if she goes back when she is about to get interviewed?

It’s kind of tricky

cause once you are in nvc process that’s the visa center processing and her time being not in the USA is relevant till she comes with visa thru the petition. It’s all a one process deal,

What the other poster said about ''i-130 changes'' and ''not going through nvc stage anymore'' is not true. the beneficiary can try and apply for a tourist visa, it will be hard for it to be approved because of the immigrant intent. but if it does get approved and the beneficiary visits the US, nothing about the I-130 changes. The CR1 process will continue as normal, with the i-130 approval, NVC stage and then interview at the US embassy. It won't complicate the case at all because it doesn't affect the process in any way.

Wow that's good to know. Thank you so much for that information. Now I am definitely down to try that route.

It's hard for the tourist visa to be approved but you won't know until you try. Obviously if you get it don't overstay, don't stay too long, keep your ties, etc. I have visited many times since we started the process, but i didn't need to apply for a visa.

Good luck!! :)

I'm not sure to be honest, this is our second notification and we've only had 1 in the mail so far.

I just wish they would work on them, it's unfair to keep sending them back and forth after a year of waiting.

My goodness

let us know

I just called them and an agent told me it is in Nebraska and it never went to Vermont. And, the agent is not sure about when the current transfer on 24th is because the system hasn’t yet got updated. I think the only solution is we just wait and read the letter for accurate information. Also, agent told me they are transferring just to increase efficiency and everything looks good with the case. When I looked at the case tracker app, almost all the cases got an update on 24th. So it is not just us.
