I did call in the middle of March and was told when my file was received.  However, I tried calling often towards the end of March and early April but was never able to get a live person.  After the NVC furloughed people, I was unable to get through.

I just waited and looked at the dates on the NVC website saying what date they were processing.  Mine was exactly what the site said.   I got my case number with the email from NVC.  To log into he CEAC portal, you need both the case number and the invoice number.

My biggest issue now is my wife is unable to get some of the civil documents since her country is locked down.  We'll see what happens.

Thank you For the info and I am glad you are one step closer.
so when you called did they give you case number or just said it’s been received and you must wait for the welcome letter?

at this time it’s hard gathering the requested paper work,  all we can do is wait and wish for the best.

overall knowing it’s approved it’s a blessing tho.

I was just thinking 🤔 I seen some people if they don’t submit few things all they have to do is provide a reason at the nvc process On why they can’t supply the evidence but at the embassy they must bring the requested paper work.

As soon as the person answered the phone, he asked for the receipt number from USCIS or NVC case number.  I gave him my receipt number and then the guy pulled up all my info.  He was very friendly.

Good morning! I finally received an answer from USCIS today after my case was transferred from Neb to Vermont on 1/22/2020 (NOA1 2/19/2020). Unfortunately I have to submit “Request for Additional Evidence” and I don’t know exactly what it is that they are looking for as I have not received anything in the mail from them yet. I will update more once I receive.

Yes, finally you got a reply! Once you get the letter, process your evidence and send it ASAP, don't delay it. Everything will work out soon.

Hello

you are currently still in the first stage and will be processed to the next stage usually sooner when ever there is a transfer, where did your transfer from and to? Anyhow every transfer is a good sign.  Unfortunately with this covid 19 will slow it a bit but not much cause immigration it’s still working and approving cases tho,  try to call customer service and insist on transferring your to an Uscis officer the wait is long but at lease you will be able to speak to an uscis office ( ask him to tell you when and where was your case touched by an office ?).

From what I read about the executive order intentions will not affect US citizens.

An administration official familiar with the plans had said earlier the order would be focused on preventing people from winning permission to live and work in the U.S. That would include those seeking employment-based green cards and relatives of green card holders who are not citizens. Americans who wish to bring immediate family to the country would still be able to do so, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity before the plan was announced. About one million people were granted green cards last year.

Trump said that the move would not impact those in the country on a temporary basis and would apply only to those looking for green cards in hopes of staying.

you got transferred to Vermont service center they are working cases, can take any where from 1 week to few moths,  it’s a great sign that it was transferred tho.

also you should call uscis to know exactly where it went to,  they will tell you

check case tracker and see who is getting approved within your transfer date. Just to get an idea.

Hey there,

I am on the same page with Youssef1. Call USCIS and they will let you know where it got transferred to. Also, there is an app "case tracker" download that and you can see up to status of 500 cases at a time. This will give you an idea about what and how many cases they are working on. It is not gonna get delayed. Since they are suspending other immigration processes, they will work the IR1/CR1 cases faster.

I read the rough draft of the executive order from an article and it had an exemption for spouses and children of US citizens and LPR. So spouse visas will not be suspended. We will know the detail when we see the actual EO. Please let us know if you need anything.
