Hello,

My I130 was pending with NSC for my wife and on Jan 13th 2020 I got a status update saying "Case was transferred to another office." On 14th of Jan 2020, it says "Case was transferred and a new office has jurisdiction." I talked to a USCIS contact center person on Jan 13th 2020, and the representative told me that my case was ready to be adjudicated and it was transferred to VSC to balance the workload. I haven't called them on 14th of Jan yet. I am planning to call them when they open. I would like to know how status got updated in both days. Did they transfer my file 2 times? Did any of you guys have this experience before? If so, what happened?

All responses are appreciated. Thank you.

Nebraska has been sending out some petitions to other service centers to clear out some of their backlog, it’s normal. You’ll get a letter in the mail explaining where and why the case was transferred, expect your case to be adjudicated in around a month or so, maybe less

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

Thank you for the response. This helps a lot. My priority date is Feb 13th 2019. I would like to know how yours adjudicated faster in NSC? Mine was in NSC for 11 months months. Did you apply for faster processing or something?

That's good to know. Keep me updated about this and also when you get approved. It has already been a long wait. Hopefully they adjudicate our files soon. Thank you.

I truly agree.

we are hitting our 1 year in the process.

on VJ it’s said they been processing may 10th but Uscis customer service said 12 months to 17 months wait time.  But again every time I call someone tells me something different.

lets hope we get processed within the estimated time January 19 to February 19

Best of luck on anyone that’s been away from ❤️ Ones.

Processing times are wrong everywhere. Visa journey is little accurate but it also depends on how the members update their timelines. USCIS dates are just estimates and they are always 2-3 months behind. Vermont Center does not have any IR1/CR1 spouse visa for February based on visajourney updates. They might be dealing with less cases based on that. Anyway good luck you too and let me know when you guys get approved. It is always tough to be away from loved ones. Thank you.

Yes indeed

I checked on how many ir1/cr1 visa spouse currently only 2 on there, mine and yours, I didn’t see much prior or after tho. Hopefully that’s a great sign of speeding things up for our cases.

the only thing we can do at this time is to wait.

We sent an I129f for K3 in July and within a month and a half the I129f was denied and the I130 was approved. This tactic doesn’t seem to be working anymore in Nebraska unfortunately, but luckily for you since your case has now been transferred your case should be processed very soon at the new service center

not really

it is not working anymore and since so many tried it,  the case load went up and this (I believe) caused the already slow Nebraska office to go slower

BTW ours was in Nebraska 11 months and switched to Missouri for faster processing / took another 5 months

No, processing time was already 12 months before people submitted I129f, and has consistently continued to be so. Maybe that’ll change with the large amount of transfers
