Applied:  2/6 Chesapeake, VA Post Office

Online Tracking: Application Not Found :(

I called the National Passport Info Center, just in case their online tracking system is not updated yet. They said my application is not in their system yet🥺🥺 they told me to call the post office.

I called the post office and their phone line is always busy but I did get to talk to their passport officer once, she said they’ll call me back but never heard from them again and that was 3/10. I’m getting  worried that they’ve lost my application. 😢😭

I have no idea how reliable the information the acceptance officer at usps gave me today when my husband and I each went to apply for passports, but he told me I should get mine back in 10 to 14 days (since I paid for expedited) while my husband should expect to see his in four weeks or so (non expedited).

I’ll believe it when I see it tbh since  the website still says 4-6 weeks for expedited and 10-12 for not.

Recent reports on this thread suggest he was fairly accurate in his prediction

Well I’ll update when anything happens.

I really, really need at least my passport (although the certificate would work) to send to ssi. My company health insurance is only good though June 30th so I need to get on Medicare (although it’s actually going to cost me more than 10 times what I’m currently paying due to me taking a very expensive drug). But even that is better than paying list for it (currently a ridiculous over $10k a month for this drug).

No.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast/passport-agencies/san-francisco.html

To apply at this passport agency, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Make an appointment online or by calling us at 1-877-487-2778. The Department of State does not charge a fee to make appointments.
  • Be traveling internationally within 72 hours (3 business days)
  • Be able to show printed proof of international travel (such as your flight itinerary, hotel reservation, cruise tickets, or international car insurance)
  • Pay the $60 expedite fee in addition to the regular application fees.
  • Note: you can schedule your appointment up to 2 weeks before your international travel but the date of your appointment must be within 3 business days of your international travel. If you need a foreign visa, the date of your appointment must be within 10 business days of your international travel.

Quick update in case anyone finds it useful. I got a notification yesterday, 2/24/2021, that my application was approved. This morning, 2/25/2021, I got another notification that my passport has shipped. The USPS tracker is not showing anything at the moment but hopefully that will update later today.

So, in short, mine took around 3 weeks non-expedited. I hope everyone else's is as speedy.

thank you for that update! Fellow Oregonian, I submitted applications for my twins a week ago and didn't realize the non-expedited was expected to take that long. We're planning to visit grandparents in Europe end of May and they wouldn't even arrive on time. I tried calling to upgrade to expedite today but they wait times are horrendous. I guess I'll wait a couple weeks and if nothing moves, I'll call to upgrade then.
