Nope, still says "In Process". It's been 6 weeks and I filed expedited. Am going to apply to get the refund and just continue waiting I guess?

Sorry to hear that. I have an international flight in exactly a week and beginning to feel like I will not receive the passport time. Can’t do much I guess...

I applied on 12/11/2020, no tracking number. Went to USPS today and they told me they were sent in bulk from Philadelphia, now are in NY and coming back to Philadelphia. They can't provide me with tracking since it's internal. WTH, this is such a mess. 😣

Did you try calling and informing about your travel? Usually for priorities like that passports are issued within 3-5 business days.

I filed routine process as I don't have any travel plan in near future. I let them take as long as they need.

I also see some people who filed routine process first then expedited it later, which did speed up the process.

Filed for expedited passport on Dec. 24th at the local post office in Ohio. They gave me a tracking number and told me it should arrive in Philadelphia for processing on Dec. 28th (which it did).

12/29/2020 - Received an email that they received my application.
01/06/2021 - I received an email saying they shipped my passport book.

So now I just have to wait for the passport book and my NC to arrive in the mail. The process was way faster than I thought it was gonna be!

I did expedited because I had international travel planned in 5 weeks from filing. Had to cancel the travel

Same thing happened to me. After you apply passport in USPS, they combine few more application in one package and send it to lockbox. This is the reason for not providing the tracking information. However, they know whether it got delivered or not. Please go in-person/ call the USPS office and ask for the updates. I got a call from USPS employee after it got delivered. Goodluck.

Did you hear anything on your application yet. I had filed on 12/17 and USPS told me that it was delivered on 12/30 - but I still see 'no active passport application' on the status tracker 😕

Same here - I had applied on 12/16 and nothing until now. I did go to the post office and was told that they ship passports in bulk - they don't share the tracking number but they were able to tell me when the package was delivered at Philadelphia.

Thank you. I will keep calling and going in person to check the status.

Same with us. Spouse had his appointment at the post office mid-November and the passport tracking website says the application was received 11/19 and is in process - no updates since then. We’re in Maryland. The check was cashed back in November.

An update: Spouse called 2 days ago and here’s what he was told by the phone rep:

My application is being processed by the Western Passport Office, which was closed most of the week of Christmas for COVID cleaning - apparently they were only open one day that week. All offices were also closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, plus New Years Day, and they closed at 2:00pm on New Years Eve. So with all of that, they're a week to a week and a half behind, meaning my "4-6 weeks" processing is actually more like "5-7.5 weeks".

Of course, today he got an email saying his application was approved and that he should receive his passport around 1/10. Hang in there everyone!

Yesterday (finally) I got an email that my application was approved, and I should receive my passport book & card on or around January 12.

Applied (expedited) - 11/18

"In process" email - 11/24

Approval email - 01/06

It took quite awhile despite expedited. But at least it has been approved now. Congrats. I think your phone call to them probably served as a wake up call. Then they started to process it.
