For USPS fee, credit card can be used. Only the passport fee to State Department has to be check or money order

I got e mail this morning my Passport was approved and shipped. Processed at Dallas passport Agency. Applied on August 10th. They started to process on August 20th. Exactly 4 weeks.

Just got my certificate back. So the complete timeline for Routine (regular/standard) processing with standard delivery, applied for both book and card ($140 total + $35 USPS execution fee):

Aug 17 State Department Update - Charleston entered phase 1. So we've now got 6 in Phase 2 and 13 in Phase 1.

 

And I'm not sure if this is the verbiage for each opening, but they say in the update, "the Center continues to be a high volume passport processing center" and that sounds positive!

So I applied on July 31st and the application is still not in the system. I went to check with USPS office and the agent told me, they are backup up and it may take longer time to show the status in the system. I see some folks here, they could see the application in progress with in 7-10 days. Anyone here in the same boat that the application has been applied more than 15 days and still not traceable? I paid via money order which I bought in USPS office.

Today marks exactly 7 days for me, no application yet or check has not been cashed.

So pleased to have received my passport!  It came from the Boston office.  I got the email it had been approved and also one that it was printing on Aug 13th, and it was in my mail box today.

On J visas.  Spouse won DV lottery while in US.  Did AOS from the US.

 

Boston field office, GC holder for 10 years.

Citizenship received in 2016, took ~5 months from application to passport.

Spouse received citizenship in 2019

01/14/2020 - filed N400 Miami FL

01/18/2020 - NOA Biometric scheduled 

02/05/2020 - Biometrics done 

03/13/2020 - Interview scheduled - canceled due Covid19

08/19/2020 - Interview 

08/27/2020 - OATH Ceremony MIAMI FL 

Done with USCIS  !!!! Good luck everyone!

Thats great. I wish I can at least see the entry in the system that says in progress. The thing is I am planning to travel in November and also had to update ssn info once i get my certificate back.

Not sure why it's taking so long? It will be 2 months tomorrow, Every week they are processing 200k passports, not sure what service center it got sent to? I should ideally get it this week. Lets see!

Charleston went phase one today!

  • Charleston Passport Center
    Status: Phase One on August 17

    The Center has entered phase one of our three-phase reopening plan. Since it first opened in 2000, the Center has been closed to the public so you cannot make an appointment for in-person service at this facility. However, the Center continues to be a high volume passport processing center.  During phase one, more staff will return to the on-site work location and the Center will continue to process applications beginning with the oldest applications received. If you received a letter from the Center requesting additional information to continue processing your application, please respond to the address provided on the letter.
