After that the status stayed as: "In Process". And continued to do so.

I checked every morning. Including yesterday.

I should check more often, because USPS texted me 10 minutes that there was a package in our mail box. I thought it was an online order from one of VisaJourney's valued advertisers that my wife has become addicted too.

As of now the status says:

So 32 days from passport application to delivery. Again, we ordered expedited shipping.

I am confused by:

We sent your passport book and card to you using Priority Mail.

and

Your new passport book, passport card, and your citizenship evidence are sent separately to you. You should expect three mailings: one with your new passport book, one with your new passport card, and one with your returned citizenship evidence.

USPS Informed Delivery does not show another priority mail package on its way to U.S.

So why we got the passport 23 hours after it was shipped: Apparently passport books for our neck of woods (metro Tucson) are produced in Tucson: the first record of tracking history is:

We relocated to Tucson in part because of its reputation for fast N-400. Fast passports was a bonus I was not aware of.

Will follow up when we get the passport card and when we get the citizenship evidence.

Tomorrow we go to SSA. I will try online first, and report anything interesting in the appropriate forum.

Passport card arrived today.

No naturalization certificate yet.

SSA updated my wife’s record to show status as a U.S. citizen. The worker declined to

HOA fined us for the monster mail box. $2 so far. New naturalization certificate costs $555, so still ahead.

Received an update today that my passport had shipped on 4/12/2023 (application date was 3/28/2023).

The strange thing is 1) this is much faster than I expected and 2) the tracking number they provided links to a package which was delivered to an address in California (I'm in New York) on 19th March 2022...

Guess I'll check the status later and see if anything changes...

The U.S. Department of State has shipped your passport book and card on 03/28/2023.

We sent your passport book and card to you using Priority Mail.

Your Priority Mail delivery confirmation number is [redacted]  Click the delivery confirmation number to check delivery status or call USPS at 1-800-222-1811. You should receive your passport on or around .

Your new passport book, passport card, and your citizenship evidence are sent separately to you. You should expect three mailings: one with your new passport book, one with your new passport card, and one with your returned citizenship evidence. Your citizenship evidence may arrive up to 8 weeks after your passports.

Today’s status is:

Application Status: Approved

The U.S. Department of State approved your application for your passport book and card. We're now printing your passport book and card and preparing to give it to you.

You requested expedited service when you applied. Expedited service can take 7-9 weeks. Our processing times begin the day we receive your application at a passport agency or center, not the day you mail your application or apply at a local acceptance facility. You should receive your passport book and card on or around 04/12/2023.

Your application locator number is Xxx

As noted before we did receive passport book and card. This latest update is bizarre. The lack of mention of certificate of citizenship.

Thx,

 And as documents go :

- Naturalization Certificate+ black and white copy

-DL + black and white copy,  front + back

-ds 11, just the 2 pages with the actual application, black and white printed

 -a photo for passport.

 - the check with the expedite fee + priority express fee.

-the USPS fee...separate from the actual package

Am I missing something?

Tracking number sorted itself out overnight. Passport is scheduled for delivery today.

Passport application received 3/28/23 - passport approved and shipped 4/12/2023. 15 days, not the seven to nine weeks expedited timeline advised.

I know, can't believe it!

The tracker has gone back to 'In process' again now though, despite the USPS website showing that the passport is in fact currently out for delivery in Brooklyn 🤣

Not sure the Dept. of State IT systems are up to much!

Summary timeline:

2023-02-24: oath of naturalization

2023-02-27: applied for passport card and big passport book with expedited service

2023-03-29: passport book received. USPS Priority Mail.

2023-03-30: visited SSA to upgrade SSN record with to show U.S. citizenship status. No SS card replacement offered because the worker said the existing unrestricted card was fine, despite the date of issue before date of naturalization

2023-04-10: passport card received. USPS first class mail. Informed Delivery did not inform us.

2023-04-15: naturalization certificate received. USPS first class mail. Informed Delivery did not inform us.

USPS folded the envelope containing the naturalization certificate for no reason. After it was folded, the carrier unfolded it and laid it neatly flat inside the monster mail box.

So that is $555 wasted.

No point replacing the naturalization certificate if USPS is going to damage the replacement.

Thus my wife’s journey ends on a sour note.

Good luck.

Tomorrow, I will restore the original little leaky mailbox that our HOA demands.

Passport was actually held at the local post office for me to collect. I picked it up on Friday, all present and correct. Just waiting for the return of my naturalization certificate now.

Hi everybody.
I sent my son's passport application on 4/11/2023 paying the expedite fees at a local post office in Austin, Texas. Received an update that the application is in process 4/14/2023.

My son came to the USA with an IR2 visa on 3/31/2023. Since he is 4 years old he is eligible for US citizenship under The Child Citizenship Act of 2000.

I sent the following documents (all originals):
My US passport (I am the father)
My US naturalization certificate
My peruvian birth certificate (official translation)
My wife’s peruvian birth certificate (official translation)
My son’s peruvian birth certificate (official translation)
My peruvian marriage certificate (official translation)
My son’s peruvian passport
Proof of enrolling my child in preschool

2/3 Wife applied for passport at USPS- Expedited Service

2/8 Check Cashed

2/8 File received and processing

Locator 79 (Houston)

3/15 Approved (exactly 5 weeks from receive date). Web site indicates that passport will arrive by 3/21

We received my wife's NC exactly 4 weeks after passport was received.  It arrived in a large orange envelope and NC was not folded.  Envelope did not show in Informed Delivery scan of mails being delivered (since it a large envelope).

We have already completed her SS update (in person) and Global Entry update to include her new US passport (it was done in person on a walk-in basis, since it was an update).

She is finally done with everything.
