It's possible that an urgent trip might be coming up for me. If I do elect to contact my rep and senators, which info should include initially aside from travel date, name, DOB and locator number? Don't know if I'll be comfortable including my SSN in an email unless they contact me and I give it to them verbally, or if it'll be needed at all.

You can give them last four. But nonetheless they need it to verify that it is correct person when they contact passport center.

So I might be jumping the gun here but I'm hoping to get some advice on my situation:

Applied for expedited passport on 8/20/21

Received and 'In Process' since 8/24/21 (locator is 68 - NH)

I now have a medical situation in my family back home, and booked my flight for 11/3/21.

I understand that there is a good chance that my application will be processed before then; however - those of you who had to reach out to your congressman or senator offices, how long did it take for your passport to get to you from when you initially reached out to when you had your passport in hand?

I'd like to give myself enough time, and say if it takes 2 weeks - reach out to my local office 3 weeks before my trip to give myself enough buffer in the event anything goes not according to the average timeline.

Also - I applied from VT but moved to CA that same day (my CA address is on the application). Assuming that's not an issue but is anyone else in the same boat (applied from one state by return address is in another one)?

Thank you!

I don’t think it maters from which state you apply. As long as you put your current address to receive your passport. If you are asking for which senator you need to contact, then contact to representative that is assigned to you residential address.  I have Florida license and address and temporarily moved to Georgia but still had to contact the one that is in Georgia. In regards to time, I believe it takes way faster than 2 weeks. You already applied for expedited, so they don’t need to collect your expedited fees. I would say contact them right now, explain your situation in details and include information on your  passport application number as they usually don’t require that on their form but good for them to know.

Great - thank you so much!

I think since I still have almost 2 months until my trip - I'll give them few weeks before reaching out.

Thanks for the update. What was your locator number, and did you get a new or old style passport?

The first two digits of the locator number to be precise. You don’t have to post the whole thing. 😂

Man I am so jealous of all of you.  I guess locator 34 is definitely bad luck. 😋

We are planning to leave the same weekend my wife's passport arrives.  It's torture for us.   Need to get the hell out of NY for a while.
