When you say "recd", do you mean the date when the application was received by the receiving end in the mail and was noted in mail tracking system? or you mean when your application status turned to "in process"?

When you log in and see this example:

Don't Let Your Passport Become a Victim of the Coronavirus - KidTripster

You make the assumption that they are one and the same.  If not, then BFD.

Finally done.

Your post is clear and has all the good details in it.  You were still nice to provide further explanation! Thank you Talako!

The date they put down in your status when it turns in "in process" is different for many people than the date when the mail piece is physically received by them (which can be tracked in USPS.com). They can be for some people as different as 3 weeks apart. The check-cashing date makes your post more clear and informational for other people, and it tells me which date you meant.

Thanks again!

Nope.

Alright, thanks. Just was wondering if anyone even receiving those. They did say on their website that they started printing new versions but I guess it solely depends on state and office 🤔

You cannot request a specific version of the passport book, and we cannot guarantee that you will receive a Next Generation Passport. We are gradually replacing existing ePassport printers with NGP printers at our passport agencies and centers. Since ePassports continue to meet and exceed international passport security standards, both ePassports and the NGP can be used for international travel.

@price411how do you find out which processing center is assigned a particular passport locator? I’ve seen mention of this before but never found a code list.

Interesting.
Based on that, my locator number was 34 = Charleston. However, my passport book was sent from Tucson.
I’ll check when I get my NC back to see where it came back from. If it’s different then maybe the application and printing locations are different.

Got the passport yesterday.  Mailing envelope had a Seattle address, but the USPS tracking showed it coming from Arkansas.  So, probably different.

Finally done.

Yes, the passport is made and shipped from a different place than where your application is being processed.

Boston processed my application. The passport itself was made in Arkansas.
