Two consecutive mistakes regarding my passport application in a little bit over one month

The Department of State misspelled my last name on my passport, although my last name was correctly spelled on my certification of naturalization and my passport application. I then submitted Form 5504 to have my passport replaced. I requested expedited service, enclosed a check of $60, and express mailed to Expedited Service of National Passport Processing Center (not Routine Service). But they listed me as Routine Service, two consecutive mistakes regarding my passport application in a little bit over one month. I can't understand this. This is insane. I contact my senator, but no response. What can I do? Should I mail them a check and ask them to change my application to expedited service? Thank you so much for your advices.

It depends on you long you can wait.  The problem is actually contacting someone who can really help you.   It's a black hole if anything goes wrong.  No easy answer here.  I emailed the form for 2 day mailing upgrade today (charge at $17.56, I think).  But if they don't process it for 3 weeks, what good is it?  Yes, it is insane.  I'd personally eat the $60 now and then write for a refund if they cash your check later, if you are so inclined.

Were you able to track your ds-5504 in the same way as ds-11?

Hey all. Add me to the club of people waiting to get their naturalization certificate back.

I received my passport on June 10th and have not received the certificate. I keep trying to call the passport service but it's just a busy signal. Very frustrating.

My certificate showed up in the mail today! Phew!

If it's helpful to anyone, I applied for my passport at USPS on April 30th with expedited processing. USPS said they received it around May 11 (I forget the date exactly). It was approved June 7, and in my hands June 10th (regular shipping speed).  Today, July 9th, I got my naturalization certification back. Glad to be DONE. Good luck to everyone else, I hope you'll be done soon, too!

Was the Certificate delivered in a manila envelope?

The congresswoman's office sent me an email stating that they had sent in an inquiry to this agency.   Where it goes from here, I can only hope.  My friend told me her passport didn't update online until it was actually shipped.  Who knows, maybe they are shipping it anyway.  You are very much in the dark with this entire process.

My child's passport was approved on 24th June (after RFE/additional documentation). I received passport on 26th June and passport card on Jul 2nd. Though I am yet to receive the original documents. Is this normal ? Its 16 days now? What shall I do ?

My child original birth certificate and my-my wife original marriage certificate.

how long after you sent those did you get your passport?   I had the Congresswoman's staff look at all my paperwork, including what I sent them.  They said it all looked perfect to them.  I hate going through this, especially since I have to have the passport in my daughter's hands in just 17 days.  Hoping this is the week.

Low and behold! My wife's 5504 with expedited service is also showing up as regular processing....

Did yours change? Did that cash the check?
