Unfortunately, we are down to hope.  Not the best strategy.   This is a pathetically run federal agency.  But who knows, maybe I'll get in the in next week or so.

My passport status was finally updated online! I called the office of my congressman yesterday and provided all the information for them to call, I have no idea if that is thanks to them or pure coincidence but always worth a try if not done yet

My online status was unavailable this morning but now shows in process. Maybe they update the online status once a day?

Indeed. Small town, they know their regulars, they are very accommodating when people forget documents or present un-guillotined photos etc. I know not everyone gets this service!

But both the expedited and regular processing times have actually increased. When my husband did his in January this year, expedited was 3 weeks and regular was 6 (he did regular and got his in 4).
I think most people who do expedited do the 1-2 day shipping tacked on to it  (both there and back).

As far as "shipping", it took them an additional 12 days after the package (in response to their letter stating they needed more information)  was delivered to note it in their system.  Just  because they receive in in the mail doesn't mean there aren't internal gymnastics before they officially "receive it".

The shipping is just Usps-passport agency and passport agency-back to you - I understand this. They are clear that the internal mail moves, data entry, check cashing etc all happen before it’s listed as in process. We have done 3 new passport applications before this one (including one for a minor child that required an RFE), two prior to the pandemic and one early this year, so I know it takes a while to show up. This is the first one we have done expedited though. The package arrived at the passport agency last night, from other recent expedited posts here I am expecting it to take a few days before the check is cashed and a little longer than that to show up in the system. I’ll update (and panic or not as required, haha) as it happens.

Applied today for my passport & card and our kid’s renewal. We managed to find an appointment at a USPS office maybe 50minutes drive outside of Sugarland.  Me being me, I made sure we were 45 minutes early 🙄 yet they were able to see us right away.

Since we had used the online form filler and had everything already copied and ready, we were in and out within 20 minutes. We made sure to thank the officer for seeing us way before our appointment time, she laughed then thanked us for ensuring the forms were correctly filled out and ready to go.

if you’re ever near Alvin in South Texas, make sure to visit Joe’s BBQ, it’s a 5 minute drive from the USPS.

Unfortunately, they told me that the 12 days it took them to get the information from their mail room, didn't count towards my 6 weeks.  You are probably in good shape.  They requested additional information on my child, which has just seemed to go nowhere.

Was anyone able to reach the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778 by phone? It’s been more than 10 business days since I received my passport but I still didn’t get my Certificate of Naturalization. The National Passport Center doesn’t even let the call though—after you go through all the prompts the call drops. :(

It can take a couple of months to get the certificate back, so just keep waiting.

Several months to get the Certificate back? That’s really messed up. However, considering the current state the USPS is in I won’t be surprised if they lost it somehow. 😕

Yeah we have seen several cases in N-400 groups on Facebook where it took close to 2 month to receive it back. Some passport agencies are fast while others are very slow, just like with USCIS' different service centers and field offices, the wait times vary greatly.
