Good luck. But in the future, never trust these estimations, sadly.

I contacted my congressman today.   If I lose the plane tickets I bought when I relied on them telling me it would just be another week, it will cost me $1000.  We're dealing with bureaucrats who never miss a break or a holiday and don't have to answer to anyone for basic competence.

And in my experience, contacting the Senators and the Congressmen didn't help. At least for regular processing, anyway. Their pre-requisite to contacting the passport services is to pay them expedited processing money first, irrespective of however long your application has been sitting with being processed or approved. Sad!

I paid them the expedited  fees when I filed.  And an update here is after approximately 100 phone calls, I did get through without a busy signal.  Waited 3 hours on the phone and spoke to a representative.   I sent them all the requested information 2 day service on May 10TH.    He told me they got it logged in on the 26th (it took 14 days internally).   He said now it's been 4 weeks, and it should be processed in the next 2 weeks.  He told me there is no delay with it going out, so as long as they do it by the 20th of next month, it should be done in time for her to fly.  I have no confidence at all in this timeline.

Similar boat what I am in. For my child (minor-derived citizenship); they asked for some more documentation on June 3. I sent those on June 3rd and was delivered to them on June 7th. Till today no movement 9 (mine is expediated service). Last 3-4 days was trying to call them; till no luck to get person. Today also in call (waiting) for last 4 hours; still its says waiting time 2.5 hours. What to do?

Wait.  It will take them another 10 days to get the documents into the system.  Then they'll start your clock all over again.  In other words, you could wait another 6 weeks.

Applied for the passport on June 11, in person at USPS facility (Atlanta).

Got an email that they have received my application on 06/16/21.

Got an email that they have shipped my passport on 06/21/21.

Received my passport (no card or the Certificate of Naturalization yet) on 06/23/21.

It looks like they shipped the passport from Little Rock, Arkansas.

Another problem for me is that I've got to get the passport and then send it internationally to her before  the 29th to board the plane for the USA.  International shipments are also somewhat uncertain during this time.    She left on her Thai passport.  I sent her and my wife to Thailand because my mother in law was diagnosed with a metastatic pleural effusion, which has a very poor outcome.   It's stage 4 lung cancer, with a tumor so big it's pushing her heart into her other lung and preventing her from breathing properly.  I wasn't sure she would even survive until they cleared the quarantine in Thailand.   If she caught Coronavirus she would probably die in a couple of days.

So I was faced with a choice:  Make the bureaucrats happy and  possibly have my wife and child lose the last chance they would have of seeing their mother/grandmother alive or saying to hell with the paperwork and sticking them on the fastest plane to Thailand.   I chose the latter.    We applied for a U.S.  passport for my little girl before I sent her.   My idea was that I would send it to her and she could return with that.   I never dreamed it would be this much of a cluster ____, but here we are.

I'm hoping they process it in the next week and this whole problem goes away!

I applied in person in Atlanta, GA for an expedite processing. Idk where they sent it but according to USPS mail tracking it went from Little Rock, AR

Most of them are printed there and are shipped from there. Check the name of the processing center above that address. That is where your application was processed...

But I have to say - you are one lucky person with that impeccable timeline. Njoy! :)

Mailed at USPS on 05/14/2021 (expedited service)

Status changed to In Process on 05/19/2021

Check is being cashed out on 05/20/2021

Status changed to Approved on 06/11/2021,  no online update to "shipped" after that

Received passport on 06/16/2021

Update: Received the Certificate of Citizenship on 06/24/2021. It was mailed in a soft US letter sized envelop through regular USPS with no tracking number. No damage at all and it seemed that it was being handled very carefully. Interestingly, earlier today my USPS informed delivery showed that there's a mail that they don't have an image will be delivered today. Overall the process was quick and smooth.

What makes me a bit angry is that they seem to be quibbling as to the validity of my daughter's adooption.  Everything they asked for, we have already provided to the state in for me to adopt my daughter.  If they aren't happy with the adoption, that's not my problem.  They have no business essentially seeking to overturn a state's valid adoption order.  I adopt her, she is a citizen, right then and there.    Why do they need dental/medical/school records?  This, while they let people stream into the country over the border with Mexico.  The best case I can make is that this is bureaucratic buffoonery.
