Did any of you had to call the National Passport Center? Has their waiting time always been so long or did it get worse during Covid-19?

Yep called them multiple times, and had to stay on hold for long period of times (1-2 hours) before I could speak to anyone. I guess it got worse due to covid. Some days if you call early you might only have to be on hold for like 30 mins - 45 mins.

Just hang in on the phone and eventually you will be able to get to speak to the agent. Patience is the key. Good Luck.

You can also have them call you back, just follow the instructions on the phone, but be sure not to miss it. I requested a call back during my passport process, 1 hour later they called back but I was too busy doing other stuff so I missed it. I ended up calling again and requested for another call back, waited for another hour, and they called back for the second time. Good thing was that they did call back both times and I did not miss the second call.

Here is my timeline

2/9- Applied for Passport application at local USPS (Normal application)

3/1- Application received and in process

3/30-Application approved

4/1-Passport received

4/5- Passport card received.

4/14-Naturalization certificate received

Congratulations! That was overall a very smooth process. 4 days wait for the card and 2 weeks for the NC are both quite nice.

Excellent! I'll be interested to know what condition your certificate of naturalization is in when it is returned to you. I have heard recently of people receiving them with staple holes, folds, damage, creases, etc in them.

That's awesome, that's a very good processing time, many who pay for expedited don't even get theirs that fast. Lucky! I hope I have the same luck.
