Has anyone tracked their PP shipment and seen this feed on USPS tracking status?  “Your package is moving within the USPS network and is on track to be delivered the expected delivery date. It is currently in transit to the next facility.” It’s hasn’t changed since I’m day when it was shipped fro Arkansas.

I have a funny reason the PP may not get to me tomorrow and as shown on the USPS tracker.

I sent the application on July 20, My status changed to "In Process" on July 24. It is being processed in Chicago.

A person from another forum sent their application to the Chicago Passport Center on July 15 and on August 27 they received their passport (6 weeks).

On the week of July 23-29 there were 1,150,000 passports awaiting issuance.

From Jul 23 to Sep 10 1,002,000 new applications were received. 

Adding these two numbers = 2,152,000

A total of 1,316,000 passports were issued between July 23 and September 10. 

The Department of State says that applications will be processed in the order they were received.

I am calculating that there are 2,152,000 - 1,316,000 = 836,000 applications in front of mine. 

From September 4 to 10 there were 110,000 applications received and 129,000 passports issued, which gives us a difference of only 19,000 passports.

if it goes on this rate, it will take 44 more weeks (836/19) for them to process my passport 😨 !!!????

Is there a more optimistic way to do this math? 

 

Also, I have a tracking number now, what is it useful for?

I applied a month before you on June 29th. I have not got mine yet.

I will just put this here because the last time it was posted was on page 45 and it is difficult to find. 
I also brought back the instructions, in case anyone doesn't know how to use it. 
I know some of you prefer to use the Google spreadsheet but some of us don't. 
Visajourney also recommends against it because through Google spreadsheet others can see your Google login.

Do note that your original document (US Passport ) is not sent to India. You should get it back in a week or so after you send in your OCI application.  I initiated my OCI in July and got the OCI within 4 weeks.

"As of September 17, we have completed processing applications received in March and are 99 percent through the applications received in April, May, and June". On September 10 they were on 97%. Hopefully they will reach 100% this week and you will have your passport.

I received my passport and naturalization certificate and have updated the tracker.

 

Gripe: Excess glue from the envelope caused my naturalization certificate to stick to it. The certificate is still sticky and now I need to figure out how to get it off. I wish the passport office were a little more careful with handling these things.

Jus received an e-mail from DOS stipulating that my PP and PC where mailed to me today. Didn't get the approved notice just the shipment. My document were sent to New Orleans according to Customer service on the toll free number, but my PP is arriving from Tucson, AZ.

I applied for PP and PC using USPS in Miami on June 24 2020.

Good luck to y'all waiting, i am done.

Congrats and thanks for the data point! I wonder if New Orleans has moved applications to other locations since they are so far behind? Ours is supposed to be there too, we applied mid-July. Still waiting.
