Oh, I’m so sorry for you guys, but you finally did it! Now I’m scared, because my interview would be in the end of the month, a lot of stress 😓 . May I ask you?Do you remember how he looks like?

The interview was very easy. We had a female officer. Officer Hyde was her name probably in her early 30’s if I remember correctly but she was a much easier interview then what I have heard from other offices. Here is what happened below and my wife would be more than happy to speak with you to answer any questions if you would like.

Was in the room for about 30 minutes. Very very easy process. She went over the application line by line and asked me (the US citizen the names of her parents) and asked Iryna for my Date of Birth, her date of entry into the US, which airport she arrived in the US and our date of marriage. She asked for additional documents and we provided joint bank statements for both checking and savings, authorized user on credit card, joint car insurance, joint tax return for 2018, life insurance beneficiary , 401K beneficiary, joint health and dental insurance, joint insurance on engagement ring, about 80 photos of us together (of which she only wanted to keep about 15 or so because it would make the file too big). She said we had plenty of other evidence. Said everything looks great and that Baltimore policy does not too approve on the spot and gave us a letter which says to give them 120 days to review everything to make their decision. She advised it shouldn’t take nearly that long as this file seems pretty straightforward and she wished us good luck. All in all a very very easy process.

Thank you a lot for information! I really appreciate. That’s what I heard about Baltimore office..you can wait forever 😥 and I don’t understand why, if they friendly and it’s easy process . maybe the reason is the number of cases , to much just for one office

I think it’s the caseload in Baltimore. They have one of the longer processing times- I think it’s 15 months to 37 months.

the reason many aren’t approved on the spot is i would assume they have a shortage of officers who are authorized to grant an approval. So it has to be reviewed by a supervisor. I know of someone waiting from mid august and 2 other people from early-mid September and still no word

hooefully you get an officer who is authorized to approve on the spot.

I hope so , for me it’s pretty hard to get job what I want without green card. Did they put a stamp(EAD) in your wife passport ?

No she had already been approved for the combo card.

You will be approved and get your gc. They have to have a reason to deny.  If you have a bonafide marriage and you bring your evidence you will be approved.

I mean, I know that they take your combo card, but what if you are looking for a job,  and you don’t know how long you should  wait for their  decision, you can ask for a stamp in your passport, is it true ?

do you have your ead

You can work immediately with that. That is the purpose of the ead. it is to allow you to work while they are working on your gc.

You don’t need a stamp in your passport for that. Just show the card and any employer will allow for you to work.

I just reread your post. Baltimore doesn’t approve gc on the spot on most cases so they will not be taking your combo card. You can use your ead until they adjudicate your gc

Thank you ! It’s happy news ! I was wonder why they ask me to bring my EAD to the interview. I have just an EAD, not combo card .

I am guessing it’s another form of identification they want you to have but I have never heard of them taking it from someone, especially if not approved.

good luck and keep us posted once you hear back.  Hopefully it gets them moving.

I just send the email!!! Will mail the letter on Monday. Did you send them both at the same time but only got approved after they received your letter?

i would still lodge a complaint. that ordeal is beyond ridiculous, and there is absolutely zero excuse for them waiting so long that you had to do all of that just for an easy approval.

RoC sent 10/30/21

NOA 11/16/21

Check Cashed 11/18/21

Biometrics Waived 01/19/2022

Yes. I will probably do that, unfortunately I know of 3 other couples

who are also waiting 120+++ days as well. The Baltimore office needs to fix some things.

A brief update:

I send out the email on Saturday. And this morning (after long weekend), got a reply from the director saying that "she's not at liberty to disclose any information in regards to the case since this is a privacy issue". She said I can make an infopass appointment if I want to make the inquiry. I replied telling her that USCIS stopped making inforpass appointments for case inquiries. I asked if she can help making that appointment.

I guess the positive sign is that someone is at least looking into my case. I'm not sure if she'll write back to me again. I'll mail my letter tomorrow.

Hoping for the best.
