Would this case an issue at POE?

My fiance and I were planning on getting married before Christmas. During the interview, I was asked by the CO when are we getting married. I said "hopefully before Christmas." Visa was issued in a week, giving us enough time to get married before Christmas.

As far as us wanting to get married before Christmas, things didn't really go according to plan:

1) I got a promotion at work end of last year and I want to reap the benefits of the extra income I'll be getting. Especially if I go months without a job waiting for my EAD

2) My fiance and I decided to do some more traveling, since it'll be hard for us to travel once I'm in the US (waiting for AP and/or AOS)

3) I live with my parents and I would like to take care of them for the time being

My visa is set to expire mid May. I plan on arriving to the US 3 days before my visa expires.

Being that I told the CO that we would like to get married before Christmas, and instead I would be arriving 3 days before the visa expires, would this cause any issues at POE or in the future?

Thanks for your input.

Nope, doesn't cause an issue.  No one cares what day you get married, as long as it is before the 90s expires.   And of course clearing POE before the expiration date of the visa.

Safe travels.

Plans change and life happens. That’s why the visa is valid for 6 months after the medical. If it were required that you get married before Christmas the visa would have had an expiration date of December 25. But even the US government is aware that you are allowed to change your mind.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Can you get a marriage license in 3 days in the State you are going to live?

In PA:

"The license will be given to you at the time of your application.  It cannot be used until the date of issuance, which is three (3) days later.  The issuance date appears on the license. "

Don't get married outside the US before you 'activate' the K1

Part of the K1 visa is that you enter the US for the purpose of marriage.

Also even if you go to the courthouse for marriage, many times they have to schedule it.  Which may not be within 3 days.

Hope you didn't get married, otherwise you'll need to start over with a CR-1.

No rush.  Once the fiance enters the US they will have 90 days to marry.

Huh?  What does the visa expiration date have anything to do with the 90 marriage  clock after entry?

YMMV

Yes.

My main concern about entering 3 days before the visa expires would be an unexpected delay. Eg illness (beneficiary or family), travel disruption (air traffic control strike, volcanic eruption that disrupted European flights few years ago, terrorist attack like 911, etc). When deadlines are in play, its good to have some wiggle room.

Oh, I'm not saying it's a good idea. I was just curious if you had up until 11:59 p.m. on the expiration date to enter or up until 11:59 p.m. on the day before the expiration date.

Since they don't have a timeline, and they are talking as if they are making firm dates, it seems that they want to marry, then enter on the K1 with 3 days left.  This would be bad.

They have no idea how long it will take.  10 months *should* be enough.. but who knows.  I get that many are not native speakers, but many times what they write and what they actually mean seems quite different.
