Hi,

I need help for my family visit visa to USA. I have applied a b1/b2 visit visa from DUBAI and at the time of payment my screen shows the "first available appointment" for interview is April 2020. I need my family to visit USA in march 2nd week which is why the "first available appointment" is not in my favor.

Keeping this in mind I just want to know  if I pay the DS160 fee and after the payment is done this "first available date" might change and I might get some interview date in February or march  OR the date mentioned as the 1st available date is what it is and it might have dates after it but not before in any case. Should i do the payment n try this or my money will go waste as if my family travles after mid march it is of no use to me

Thanks and sorry for a long confusing question

Well, you can always keep checking in the hope that someone else cancels and something opens up. There is definitely no guarantee of this happening and most likely outcome is your original date.
For future reference, you should keep an eye on the website for visa wait times to see how far in advance for your embassy you need to schedule. It is currently showing 91 calendar days for Dubai. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/wait-times.html

This should be helpful https://www.ustraveldocs.com/vn/vn-niv-appointmentschedule.asp

You can reschedule maximum up to 3 times after which you have to wait 90 days

That’s for delaying the appointment beyond the initial wait time, opposite of what OP wants to do. The full sentence you are taking the 90 days from makes this clear: “If you cancel or fail to attend your third appointment, you will only be allowed to reschedule a new appointment after a waiting period of 90 days”

Not correct, when you go into the portal to reschedule the system doesn’t limit to only later dates than what you have. You can change it to the next day If it is available. As said before not guaranteed but if you watch the portal several times a day sometimes you can find new spots available at a sooner date.

Yes, I was the one who said that lol. The 90 date wait the OP was being “warned about” on the other hand is specifically for those who cancel/reschedule later so it’s irrelevant to him.

By the way why do you always type in bold? It’s a bit annoying tbh, bold should be for emphasizing important stuff, definitely not for misunderstanding posts lol.

It is easier for my eyes to see, I post 99% of the time from my phone and I guess age is staring to show up but I understand your point and will correct that.
