Hi All,

I may need to quit my job at the end of Aug 2007. My IR1 case has been completed, and we are waiting for an interview date in Montreal.

I plan to look for another job (that may not get me over the poverty guideline), and I have a cosponsor.

Does it look bad at the interview if I quit my job?

Please advice!

Thanks, K

Karina,

I assume you are the USC, right? If so, you only need a cosponsor in case YOU don't fill the income requirements - you say you have one so this was already the case before quitting your current job. The cosponsor needs to meet the same income requirements by him/herself.

If you are NOT the USC, your income does not count, unless you can prove it will continue in the US, will it?

If you are more specific, other folks may be able to help you better. Also, from your signature it seems that MTL just received your case right? If it is so, there's still a long way for the interview to be assigned, so no need to panic.

Good luck, L.

Hi

Yes, I am the USC who might need to quit my job at the end of August. And I do have a cosponsor just in case.

Len & Bren, how long do you think it may take to get an interview in Montreal for IR1? I would love to have my husband come back before I quit my job, but I understand MTL is super backed up. Is it for IR1 too?

Thanks, L!
