Hi everyone. Its almost tax season and im wondering if i am able to claim our son as a dependeny during the time we lived in canada as he was born there until we moved to the states? From may until july. And my husband can claim him in the US as a dependent from July until now? He was born May this year and want to confirm we can both claim him (I will claim on Canadian taxes, American husband will claim him on his taxes as well). Thanks.

when a child (dependent ) is claimed on tax returns ,  it is for the whole year and even if you and the baby had not come in 2019 ,  your husband could claim you both (adding any canadian income (over $100.000 tax exempt)

don't know about Canada taxes but the US form it does say right under the name and address section

someone  can claim you ?
