tax transcript from the most recent year

Hi, Quick question. We are in the process now with the NVC. we just paid our fees and are waiting to fill out the DS-260.

I don't know much about filing taxes in the US because i'm the one immigrating, will it be a problem if we submitted say the past 2 years of taxes since we aren't able to do the most recent one yet? We just dont want to wait to say after April to submit all of our documents.

Do you believe this would be an issue. We were thinking that If we got to the point where we can submit everything we would include a letter explaining why we don't have the current year fillings and that we will strive to have it for the interview?

Hopefully this made sense? Thanks!

Until April 15th 2018 taxes are what NVC needs for current income /as part of the last 3 years

if you interview after the that date,  they will ask for 2019 so the USC should do the taxes as soon as possible

and when IRS has them completed ask for the tax transcript 2019

BTW as his spouse he should add you to the returns
