I am just curious as now my beautiful baby has arrived, if we get married now, and submit our paperwork to apply for AOS, when can I still pay the $395 and not the $1095, if I can still make the deadline I would like to for sure. I was reading all these posts on this a few weeks ago and was having trouble sorting out when I would have to start paying more for the AOS for the K-1 visa.

We have not yet married or applied for SS# as she got here 3 days ago. Also I read that you have to wait 2 weeks to get a SS# or to apply for one, is this the correct # of weeks to wait?

Thanks all

p.s. I did post this same thing in the K-1 visa, but as a reply to someone asking about the fee increases, and thought, maybe I should make it a post

and Julezabelle, I like you and Jazzabelle, but i am not either of you :P

Hassan's SS# took 4 or 5 weeks, however, you don't need a SS# to get married or file AOS, all you need to do is get married and you will be able to fill out the paperwork and send it, you should be able to make it in time!

Jun 26, 06 - 129-F filed

Sep 27, 06 - NOA2

Nov 28, 06 - INTERVIEW SUCCESS!!!

Dec 12, 06 - VISA IN HAND

Jan 8, 07 - filed for AOS and EAD

Apr 3, 07 - EAD approved!!!

 Get married and file ASAP. I do believe you can make it before the fee increase. Also, I was told at my POE to wait two weeks before applying for my SSN to make sure I was in the system. I did and had no troubles, plus we had already been married so it was also put in my new name right off the bat. Good luck to you!
