Passport about to expire with no green card

Hello everyone! My wife and I really need help.

We filed for her AoS this week, and I was hoping to go to SFO to renew her passport. The dilemma is, we are not able to get any form of identification before she gets her green card, and she also needs her green card to renew her Philippine passport! How are we able to get through TSA, if the timelines for filing at the Chicago Lockbox is 8-24 months? :(

Can we request for an extension on a Philippine passport? If yes, when should we do that?

Did she file for AP or EAD?  Otherwise you are going to wait a long time for a GC.

You shouldn't need the GC to renew the Filipino passport.   Once you report the marriage you can request a new passport.

Reread the renewal instructions.   My wife renewed her passport awhile ago and she still doesn't have her green card

YMMV

ROM required only if you want to change the name, otherwise a renewal in the existing name is possible

She can use her passport as ID for TSA.  Too bad she didn't get a Driver's License or State ID card prior to marriage.

If they just filed for AOS then how long has the filipina been here for the passport to already expiring ?

Hmmm,  if there was only a way to know.   Like a timeline function?  ;)

But fortunately Filipino passport holders can enter the US with less than 6 months remaining.   I met someone last month that only had two weeks left when she entered.

Not isolated to Filipinos, anyone can do this,  the authorized stay is limited to the lesser of normal authorization or passport expiry, whichever occurs first.

YMMV

Please see core requirements for an adult Philippines passport renewal.

Item number 4. Either present a green card OR a copy of a VALID (meaning unexpired) US visa. Of course, her visa has already expired. We're past the 90-day period.

Thanks to everyone that is helping, and for the snarky comments, please find a different thread to post on. I honestly don't have time for snarky.

Thanks very much.

DMV will not issue State ids to a non-resident.

Yes, she filed for an EAD with her AoS. We won't need the ROM, she's going to retain her last name.

From someone who has already done it after the  i94 was expired, a copy of the k1 is all you need.

YMMV

What difference does the answer to your question make? 😑 The goal is to help, not criticize. Thanks for your comment.
