How many bank statements?

Do you both have ID that tie you to your house? You can send more evidence and also write a statement of why you did not purchase the house together (he was not working.)

A simple fix to this without having to add your spouse to the house title would be to write and notarize a letter explaining your living situation. It should include a statement that you are both residing in the same residence. You both can sign the paper in front of a notary.

Second, you can add your spouse in your home insurance. If you don't have one yet, you can get one through Liberty Mutual. It's easy.

Third, yes, submit a copy of both your driver's licenses showing the same address.

Fourth, if you have any bills under your name and his, include that as well.

Fifth, not priority but could help, submit copies of random mails addressed to both of you showing same address.

With all these, that should suffice their need for you to prove that you have the same occupancy of residence.

My wife is on our mortgage, and we used only my income to qualify.........It doesn't make sense for them to prevent him from being on the mortgage.  I'm sure they would rather have both people responsible for the debt.  My wife and I are both on the deed as well as the mortgage.

The problem in this scenario is they use the lower of the two median credit scores, and if the other spouse's credit score is lower, that can hurt the rates you get and other fees you have to pay.  For that reason, in my case, my wife is on the deed but not on the mortgage.

In our case, both scores were close to 800, so it worked out well......in our particular case.
