Never.

Why is it not enough?

It’s the bare minimum required for the petition to be approved. But an approved petition does not guarantee a visa approval. For the visa to be approved you have to show a lot more than What’s App messages and a plane ticket.

See the case of @JeanneAdil for the struggle they went through.

Ok,  i will weigh in as our visa took 6 yrs to be appoved

9 years is not normally too big of an age difference except when the woman is not  of child bearing age /he may say he does not want children of his own but it is expected of him by his family

it is also not normal for a Moroccan man to marry or want to marry a Moroccan woman who is divorce or widowed so marrying one fro out of the country goes against the norm

as for one visit / a vacation visit of 10 days or 2 weeks is considered just that -a vacation- and not enough time spent together to bond a real relationship by the Casa embassy

you not only need more face time before submitting any application but you need to actually show you converted before meeting him (like some king of email of correspondence saying that in the very beginning of talking)  I say this as one man was denied and embassy actually said "we are certain he will try to convert the petitioner)

Morocco does like to read chats (before the interview).   i would send only a few lines expanding the months you have spoken to each other.  just a few lines from each month /  whatsapp is encrypted so privacy of any conversations is protected but embassy will be interested to see if in the beginning of your chats ,  he was quick to claim his love for you

they can also see his contact list in whatsapp to see who else he talks to (but not read encrypted chats ) / this is true even if he deletes any contacts /he will be signing either a ds 160 or ds 260 (if you marry) giving the embassy permission to do this under the security checks

now,  what you need to do???

1   spend more quality time with him

2   get to know his family / very important they approve the relationship / especially the mother

3  marry and forget the K1  / but only after you check the income requirements for 5 people

4.  marriage solidifies a relationship and for the casa embassy you will have to show proof of this by not only the marriage certificate but by adding him to your tax returns as married (with form W7 applying for the ITIN)  https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/nonresident-alien-spouse

5   Casa embassy expects to see the USC and Moroccan have started the process to commingle finances

6  any photos you send should show his family in some of them / do not overload with pictures -about 20 is enough

7  the advantages of a spouse visa far out weigh a K1

he gets a green card upon arrival

he can work as soon as he is able to find a job

you will not have the expense of the AOS after marriage here ($1225 now and expected to go over $2000 this year)

plus when the box on  the ds 260 form is checked for USCIS to get the SS Number,  saves you a lot of issues

with a K1 beneficiaries have had issues getting SS card,,  driving licenses and signing things like rental agreements

rjand hamid were successful getting a K1 approval so if she chimes in listen also to what she has to say

thank you this is very interesting. we met on a Muslim dating site. He was not quick to confess his love and if he had I would have ended it as it would have been bs. As far as my kids go one is an adult so it would be a family of 4. Does my work history not count for anything? I am a government employee for 18 years. My income is above the requirements I already checked that. Even if they counted all three of my kids. His family does not approve of me because of my age and the fact that I have kids. He said that they will come around eventually and he still wants to marry me.

Your work history and income stability is a plus for the financial sponsorship part of the process, but does nothing to overcome the difficulty of the Casablanca embassy and others who have committed fraud there.  The best advice is that you need more than one visit and more evidence of quality time spent together.  A few days in October likely won't be enough for a K-1 and if denied you'll have to get married and start all over with a CR-1 visa application.  Do more research on the stories of others in Casablanca and you'll see how tough it is and what you need to do in order to get approval.  The fraud of others has made it hard for those in a legitimate relationship to get approved.

work history?

a CR1 spouse visa for a  Moroccan was denied and she worked for immigration in PA

my work history was over 25 years as a physical therapist (BS from  Cornell u and internship at Columbia)

the embassy has seen everything and they are well aware jobs are scarce in Morocco and many want to leave

no one on here will judge your love

but to the embassy u need to prove a bona fida relationship

lots of face time

i am just stating the issues with casa if you say u know it is hard,  it is harder than u know

i spent 1 month (june 2009)

2 months (march and April 2010 to marry)

month of November 2010 for a honeymoon

3 months 2011 for Ramadan and touring Morocco

3 months December 2014 thru end of January 2015

allah yekbel  you will not face what i did

but to go the K1 with only 1 visit,  you stand a big chance for a denial

allah yessir

Thank you I was actually planning on going again this year. I can’t spend more than 2 weeks because of my job.

the second trip will help and most can only spend their 2 week vacation

but big problem if family does not approve

when you go next,  take a gift to the mother

always show her respect / my Adil said his mom's back hurt so i took Ben Gay and gave her back rubs

follow the culture there (am sure u do if you converted) but very important to keep arms and legs covered (and hair if you wear hijab)

of course no alcohol or smoking

The embassy does ask the Moroccan if his family approves when there is an age difference/  he has to be honest if this is asked
