Hello there

I can so relate

We’ll be as honest as we can be !

My husband and I married 15 days after we met
We’ve been talking online for 2 months

We were all set for the civil marriage before we met face to face

He came to visit me in the Philippines

and got married right away

He flew back to NY and me to Singapore

He visited me here last August

He was supposed to be in the plane right now to Singapore again to spend Christmas here with me but he missed his flight because of the traffic he faced in NYC after driving seven hours from Binghamton to JFK   - that he didn’t anticipate!

Just sucks now but it is what it is

We do everything for love!

Thanks for posting this. I am not alone in this after all...

Hi everyone. Does anybody have an idea when Texas will begin processing August cases?

They just started processing some July cases last month, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the ones they have already processed. Best guess, August could start being processed as early as the middle of this month, but may not begin until the end of January or even the beginning of February. :(

Thank you for your reply. Yeah, I noticed they started processing July, but I haven’t seen too many approvals. I thought maybe things slowed down due to the holidays. Hopefully they start picking up pace now that the holidays are over. I’m hoping they start August this month. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hello , starting this thread for August 2019 filers. .. I am myself August 2019 filer and my service center is pontomac. Does any else here from same service center .. what happened to pontomac being one of the fastest !!!!

Based on the USCIS website the Potomac Service Center is approximately taking 7.5 to 9.5 months to approve I-130 petitions. You still are in that timeline. You will probably receive your NOA 2 anytime soon now, hopefully.

That's amazing... I'm waiting until August for Nebraska lol.

Anyone else at Nebraska seeing their case getting faster? Was September 15 a month ago on my estimate, now its August 1st.

Our poor group has fallen so quiet. Its going to get lost in the sea of topics. I saw in the group for July filers that Potomac is busy doing some heavy lifting for California Center atm and that is why things have seemingly come to a standstill for us.

Also, came to find out they supposedly update the USCIS processing estimates every month on the gov website, so we can trust it for the most part to be accurate. The first number in the estimate represents when 50% of applications with the same PD should be finished and the second number in the estimate represents when 93% of applications with the same PD should be finished. That is why they tell you to wait until after that time has passed before you contact them.  https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/more-info

Forum members, I have an enquiry.

My spouse will be naturalized in 2 months time and our i130 case is currently at California center. Checking the status on California, i noticed they only handle LPR spouse petition and not USC. does that mean our case will be transferred to another center after her naturalisation?,

If yes, does transferred case start all over again with new PD?, or continues with existing PD?

If I remember correctly it will stay at California but it will be processed much more quickly after you upgrade the case from F2A to CR1/IR1

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!
