Hello all :) It's been a while since I frequented these forums.

Me and my husband are going on our first flight back to the UK to visit my family in April - I have my Greencard but this will be my first time re-entering the USA with it when I fly back.. I just wanted to clarify if I need any certain immigration paperwork other than my British passport, my USA Greencard and my marriage certificate? (Marriage certificate is to show change of last name as my passport is still valid and has my maiden last name but my Greencard has my married last name)

Thanks in advance.

For CBP, just the Greencard is sufficient: https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1191?language=en_US "United States (U.S.) LPRs do not need a passport to enter the U.S. as per 8 CFR 211.1(a)" For the airline employees at check-in, etc. you can show the three items you mentioned above.

Enjoy your time back in the UK. We took a trip back for a week before Christmas, wow it was sad coming back to the US.

I've never been homesick, but I felt terrible for a couple of days when I came back.

Then I realized it’s like the sadness you feel when coming back from a really great holiday. Add a sprinkle of family on top and it makes the feelings stronger.

Still the only thing I yearn for is an orange warburtons loaf, been here 9 months and I can’t find anything even close.

So we don’t have to change the name on our passport if different to our green card? As I renewed mine last year but thought I’d have to change it to my married name which will be on my GC before I went back home to the UK?

You can continue to use your maiden name passport, but book your ticket in the name on the passport. It makes it much easier at the airline counters to get boarding passes, etc. Take a copy of your marriage certificate to show you have a new married name which is on the greencard just in case somebody asks.

On a side note it’s super quick to change your name on your passport now. I’m coming home for a visit in April too.

You fill in and pay for your application Online then said them your passport and marriage certificate via tracked mail.
The whole thing only took me 7days to get my new passport, (I paid for next day service) which they did after getting my documents.
