USCIS called me and left a message?

I had received a call from the officer at my local USCIS office that is judging my husbands adjustment of status case. I am his sponsor. They left a message at 8am saying they are looking to speak with me and to wait another call from them. This is starting to scare me. Is it common? We have had the interview and were asked to complete a new medical, which we did last week and sent it over. Now we received this call. Does anyone know what it means? I am anxiously awaiting the call back.

No, it is not common at all. USCIS normally communicate via US mail. It is very very strange to get a call from them. 

What is more common is a scam call. Scammers call people pretend to be USCIS asking for personal information and stuff.

He said to wait a call back because you can’t see his number but I can actually see it? He said his name... I don’t remember if it matches my officers name. He called 3 times then left a message.

I guess you wait for him to call back. There is nothing else to do. I don't think it's anything negative. If they want to deny, they would send a denial notice, not call.

Do you think it’s another way to verify if we’re together since the interview was on September?

id call the USCIS local office with the official number off google to ensure it isnt some kind of scam and ask if they can confirm they had tried to contact me. I dont think anyone here is going to be able to tell you what they want it could be one of a thousand reasons.

Just spoke with 3 different agents. First one said it’s likely a scam and he doesn’t recommend I answer since it’s a 702 number and it should be 202 area code. Other 2 said I need to wait to speak with a tier 2 tomorrow, but they don’t recommend giving information until it’s clear if this is an actual call

My officer called us so I think they'll do that if it's necessary. My call was from an unknown number but we picked up anyways. When we talked to him, we recognized his voice so it was not a scam.

What did they need? If I may ask. Unfortunately the interview was months ago so I wouldn’t be able to recognize his voice

If they ask for any personal information tell them you will call the office back and ask for the extension. They should have all your information.

Follow this advice. Do not answer.

No one called back today 🤔 should I ring them to see if it has a USCIS leave a voice mail recording since it’s after hours?

Was it someone with a thick South Asian accent saying his name was "Steve Johnson" or "William Jones" or anything like that? That's a pretty good indication of scamming.
