Timeline says NOA2 date is past due

Our NOA1 date was 9/23/2019, based on VIsaJourney timelines and similar timelines for other members, I'm seeing that we were supposed to hear back by 1/7/2020. When looking at similar timelines, I'm seeing members whose NOA1 date was a few days after ours already get their response several days ago (same processing center, CSC). Is it possible to have someone who applied after you receive their NOA2 ahead of you from the same processing center? Should I reach out to USCIS or is it too early?

I'm also wondering if maybe I'm going by a different date. On NOA1, there are 2 dates: received and filed. I'm going by the received date since that is also the date that shows up in the online status check form. Should I be going by the filed date (9/26/2019) instead?

It is absolutely possible and normal........As @geowrian says, USCIS is like a grocery store.  Some lines are just faster than others.......relax......you will like hear news soon...

VJ numbers estimates are based on averages. That means some people will be faster than them, and some slower (sometimes much slower; we were approved in Nov 2018 from a May 2018 petition, most couples from that month were approved by the end of December, almost all by the end of January... and a few weren't for months after that).

They're also based on reports from people who've already reached that stage, so when processing times are going up (which they seem to be slightly) they'll tend to be on the short side and when processing times are going down (which they were from mid-2018 to early 2019) they'll tend to be on the long side.

VJ is only based the user input of the members here and we are only a percentage of actual filers. The UCSIS processing times are quite different and much longer. If someone who has a NOA1nafter you receives the NOA2 before you, it's just how it can happen sometimes 😉

VJ users who update their timelines are probably a large enough percentage of K-1 applicants to be a representative sample.

For other visa types and for AOS and EAD/AP, I'm less confident of that.
