What is "legal name" after being married?

On the I-485 it is asking for my spouse's legal name.  She is taking my last name.  So all of her passport and other info are under her maiden name.  Is my last name now her legal last name for the purposes of this paperwork?  

 

For the sake of these forms, is her legal name her maiden name or her married name?

Use her married name. 

 

Canadian passports are no longer able to just amend them, so if it is not expired don't spend the crazy money to renew it in the married name. 

 

Once she gets her EAD and AP she will use the marriage license to get her SSN and DL in her married name.

Thank you.  So is her married name her "legal name" if it's not on any legal documents yet?  The only legal document with her married name on it so far is her marriage certificate.

Marriage provides an opportunity to change a name.  All you need to do is perfect by actually using it going forward
