I was asking that of Boiler, for his friends.   You're already living in that forsaken area, and I know exactly why you are moving.  I hope for both your sakes that you are able to escape before your 40s.

I keep telling @laylalex that she needs to get out while she can, just like I did exactly 2 years ago. I have a very nice 3/2 ranch house on 6 acres here in NC that I would have never been able to afford in CA. I literally see a herd of 6-8 deer in the pasture every other night.

Some of my replies have got me into trouble.....And some have fallen into the type before thinking category.

Back on subject, well the new topic title so I guess I am ahead of the change, must admit her age threw me as for whatever reason I thought she was significantly younger.

We all have to live our own lives, and it will not be that long before she hits 40, now I know it varies but for many that is a significant turning point and often when reality catches up. Going to be harder as the need for filler increases. I recollect a sort of similar conversation coming from a lady who must have been 50, nothing was said but I could tell we were all thinking the same, by that time it becomes delusional.

Positive things could happen but the odds are declining. And I seriously doubt there is anything anybody else can say that would help.

I gotta admit, you lost me.here, Boiler man.

Trust me, I know all too well.  I escaped CA many years ago, and am SO much better off now.  My whole family is, in fact.

Ramblings concerning @laylalex's sister, maybe she needs her own thread.

Fellow escapee!

Even with the decent prospects of moving back to the US, I'd still never move back to CA. I have my preferences, and have a rather open mind, but I still have standards (for myself and family) that CA just doesn't meet even the minimum requirements for.

They are clean because they don't tolerate the BS like Los Angeles does. What's funny is that BH banned those little scooters in that city. So the company had to set up a type of geo-fence around BH so that scooters can't work there.

Look for that to be a trend. Human nature is such that people end up leaving those things in the most annoying or dangerous places when they are done. I often find them parked across the entire sidewalk or completely blocking building access. I'm really starting to think some people even make that little extra effort to leave them in the worst possible spot.

Or worse, throwing them into lakes and rivers.

What amuses me is that by any reasonable measure these things are ecologically disastrous, but are often hyped by the virtue signalers.

Not to mention that there have been many accidents where riders have hit pedestrians on the sidewalk because the riders are going to fast near people.

I saw that once here, but I was going back and forth on if it was the person who used the scooter who did that, or if it might have been the person who got pissed off because they tripped over the scooter left lying across the sidewalk or something. Might be more likely to be the latter.
