Hi I am new to this forums . I need some tips and advice I am married living in dubai my husband is in USA (green card holder)  I am working in dubai and I want to visit my husband so I am thinking to apply for tourist visa, I want to know chances of getting visa and what questioned can be asked.

You can apply for a visitor visa.....but you will likely have to show strong ties to your country of residence.  You must convince the CO that you will return to your country after the short visit....good luck.

 

THE CO can ask any question he/she wants.......there is requirement for them to look at any documents you bring to the interview.  You will likely qualify or not based on the information you enter on the DS-160.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Getting one depends on having a solid case.

 

It is a very quick interview and usually they make the decision on the basis of your application, not the interview.

Like others stated you are free to apply for a tourist visa but need to show strong ties to your home country in your application. Don’t plan on the CO looking at “evidence” you bring to your interview, it must all be documented in your application.

My one thought on this is that because F2A category right now is current, there might be suspicion of immigrant intent/to stay and adjust status.  You didn’t mention if your husband has already started a petition for you? Pretty sure you will be asked about this.

Apply and see what happens.  Hopefully your ties to Dubai are strong enough to get approved.  If denied, he can visit you in Dubai while you wait for the spousal visa process to play out.  Good luck!
