CNN agreed on Tuesday to a settlement with Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann, who filed a lawsuit in March seeking $275 million against the cable news network.

A spokesman for CNN confirmed with the Cincinnati Enquirer that a settlement with Sandmann had been reached.

As Part Of Settlement With Nick Sandmann, CNN Hosts Must Wear MAGA Hats During All Broadcasts

article-5374-1.jpg

ATLANTA, GA—According to a report, as part of the settlement with Nick Sandmann, CNN hosts will be required to wear MAGA hats throughout every broadcast.

"Let the punishment fit the crime," counsel for Sandmann said as Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo, Anderson Cooper, and Wolf Blitzer all solemnly donned Make America Great Again caps.

Hosts were seen with downcast expressions as they commented on the day's events, MAGA hats in place.

Did he really "win" a settlement? Interesting take on what by definition would have to be a mutual agreement.

Yeah, especially when we don't actually know what's in the agreement. I mean, one person/entity could do better than the other in a settlement, but since we have no idea what's in the settlement, how do we know who "won"? Sometimes people settle for small amounts just to make things end.

My dad's a civil litigator. He says that if you get to trial, the only person who always wins is the lawyer.

While I doubt the figure is anywhere near 275 million (I would assume its in the single or low double digit millions), it is undoubtedly a win for Sandmann, due to CNN's prior motion to dismiss attempt where they tried to justify extremely malicious defamation against Sandmann. If there was any win for CNN it would've been in May last year, and it wouldn't have gotten here.

The article plainly says he won a settlement.  Pretty simple words were used.  Before, he had nothing.   Now he has CNN admitting they were wrong as well as some form of reward (I assume money) the likes of which were unclear.

And he's not done winning, hopefully.

"Sandmann has also sued NBC and the Washington Post. His lawyers have said they also intend to sue Gannett, which owns The Enquirer."

He should get millions. The reporters there saw what happened, and the story was intentionally edited to make a Trump supporter look like a racist. t was no accident. It wasnt an Oh ####### we got bad info, it was made up

Who cares what the article says? I give you credit for actually using a site that is mostly factual this time, but the right wing bias certainly showed in this article. Without knowing what the settlement was though, how could anyone know who "wins". For all we know they agreed to give him a lollipop and a new MAGA hat. The only thing we can be sure of is that they both agreed to something. Chances are they are not even allowed to talk about it, so that's probably all we will ever know.

I agree with the last part though. Hopefully one of the others cases goes to court.  That way we will get to see who wins.

Don't the lawyers makes sure no one will ever know what the settlement dollar figure was?  Considering how the leftist mainstream media treated this kid (who was not trying to be a spokesperson like some other kids), just winning a suit against an organization like CNN is a win regardless of the dollar figure.  Now we know that CNN is extremely left leaning.

Not all of them. I know a few decent lawyers. I know our very own Maven is MDL, but from what she posts, I think she tries to be ethical. Tortfeasing and all

Over in off topic (90 day thread) someone attacked lawyers, and some lawyer got  triggered
