Hello All

I have submitted for my husband green card and since I don't have an income I included a joint sponsor.

my joint sponsor has income of 95000 dollars on a  household of 4. so by all means he can support the intending immigrant. he also mentioned assets and he added the mortgage for his assets to the supporting document.

Now I have received 2 case FE reviews. one is asking for the proof of the assets. ( he already included the mortgage from bank) so what else he has to add?

and the other one says: no sponsor meets the requirement to support intending immigrant. ,,, Why? the annual income is high why the joint sponsor doesn't meet the requirement?

could it be because they asked for extra document as proof of asset?

what other documents are needed as proof of income? cause he only submitted the tax return.

could you please help? I would appreciate it.

thanks

It sounds like insufficient documentation was provided and therefore what was claimed was not counted.

It’s not always beneficial to include “extra” information on the AoS, as it increases the documentation requirements and therefore more prone to mistakes.

A mortgage is a liability/debt. It does not show ownership of the asset or the net value of the asset. He should have included evidence of the current value of the home (recent appraisal preferred) and any debts on it - like the mortgage statement (so they can verify the net value). He also would need to provide evidence of ownership of the asset - like a copy of the title.

You need to also confirm from your joint sponsor if he has sponsored other people in the past. Other people sponsored in the past are counted as a sponsor's household members until those other people become citizens. It happened to someone i know. He didnt realise being a joint sponsor in the past would affect his present joint sponsorship.
