Our struggle is close to over.

Jan 2020 filed 129F petition.

February 2020 Got receipt for petition

August 2020 Petition was approved

US Embassy closed for remainder of 2020

March 2021 Did not wait for anyone to contact me from NVC.  Paid MRV fee and scheduled appointment for late July 2021

March 2021 Appointment was moved to April 2021 and notice was received from embassy with instructions

April 2021, Was mortified visa would was going into the blackhole of admin processing

April 2021, visa was approved and issued.

The main deal at the interview was they did an extensive background check on name and associated numbers like passport, drivers license ssn etc on fiance.  Mostly all questions asked were based on verifying relationship.  That made me happy because, I had been to see my fiance 6 times while waiting and we had lots of loving pics with me his family.  We even went on vacation together to another country.  Even still, they asked him for more pics.  I feel like the pandemic made this process really longer.

Congratulations Chica79 👏

Please if don't mind could you tell me if your case was expedited. You mentioned also that you did not wait anyone from NVC to contact you. Based on what did you schedule your appointment and pay the MRV fees?

l am just trying to understand. l have similar timeline as yours: Filed in Jan 20 and DQ September 20. The only difference is that my petition is CR1 but still waiting for an interview. Thank you!

Case was not expedited.  We  created an account and selected IV insted of NIV and paid the MRV fees.  He had to go directly, no online option.  Then we were able to schedule an appointment.  There was a July appointment.  We took that.  Everyday I check to see if earlier apps were available.  There was one at the end of April and we took it.  Then we received a notice from the Consulate stating that our appointment was being moved to yet an earlier date.  The notice had instructions that basically said, who he could go to for a physical and other things he needed to do to prepare.  Since we had an appointment , he had already taken his physical and paid all fees.  I followed the steps from a site called lovevisalive.com which claimed by following their steps we could shave weeks off our time.

I think you only have the option to schedule online if you’re K1. I was told CR1 and IR1 have to be scheduled by the embassy/NVC. @Lima19

Was it your first time scheduling or it was a reschedule? Because I know people whose appointments were canceled back then were able to reschedule online.

1st time scheduling.  NVC took too long, but it didn't matter because they kept canceling during covid

Wait. So are you saying I can actually go online and try to schedule an appointment even though I haven’t received any appointment letter from NVC? I am CR1 btw.

I was able back in February last year,  I'm IR-1.  They canceled and then I scheduled another 1, and they kept canceling during covid till they finally let the interview date happen

I never got 1 from NVC only from the website when I scheduled the interview

Maybe your case was sent to Dakar allready that’s why other than that they won’t let you schedule an interview
