I have friend who is CR1 and been dq since March and she is still at NVC. The don’t seem to have a order.

I did tried for my Son in July 2020 but it was not approved. Reason stated was "to be fair to all applicants,  we only schedule interviews first in  first out. 

That been said, you can always try it's either yes or no,  and.you Will always maintain your position in the wait list regardless of the outcome
