Do I need a new I-20?

Not sure if this belongs here or in the AOS thread.

I will be adjusting my status from an F-1 student and want to make sure all of my documentation is up to date. My current copy of my I-20 is from when I applied for OPT, and states "recommended for OPT" under the status.

I am wondering if this is the most up to date I-20 status I could have, or if I should be asking my school to update my status to something else (OPT approved? Currently working on OPT?). Or, will it not matter for my application. I need to include a copy of my I-20 with my application to prove lawful status.

I know this is a question for my international student office but I have contacted them without a response. I wanted to see if anyone here knows the answer to determine whether I should be making a trip to the office to request a new I-20 or if that's not needed.

Thanks!

I'm assuming your spouse is a US citizen. If so, submitting a copy of current status is optional. Thus, you can submit a copy of your current copy that states "recommended for OPT" under status, if you want.
