Well, that part was great but the monologue as a whole was pretty damn epic. At least there's a few sane ones out there still...and well, the ones who aren't, got triggered by it which makes it even better.

Boring, well most of it but the Ricky bit was very impressive. Amusing he told them to cut out the wokeness but some had deaf ears and were very cringy. Which sort of made it even funnier.

 

Not that I paid intention to all of it, but there seemed to be some epic fashion fails. Not really my area so I stand to be corrected.

It was lame, and the only thing I watch these shows for anymore is the fashion. I loathe Gervais especially, he is never very funny.

That being said his whole monologue and behavior here is not some great moment of clarity or 'pwning' anyone, it's always been his shtick. He'd just as soon rip every side an uncomfortable new one, then shrug and say he really doesn't actually care about the subject he's mocking.

He was spot on (that's all I'll say about it), and that small clip is the entirety of what I saw of this, don't really care what celebrities think, least of all in some show devoted to the worship of them -- they're among the last bunch people should be listening to on behavior. 

 

What's more troublesome to me is the horribly scripted way the conversation from it arises. People really don't see how much they're being toyed with. Even more unfortunate, the left seem somewhat more aware of it, and okay with it, while the right is busy "destroying" things and largely oblivious. People are in trouble if they keep presuming the left are simply dumb or unaware. It's far more insidious than this.

I'm not exactly sure why we should care much about what actors say. I mean, it's all an act, isn't it? Even Ricky Gervais is playing "Ricky Gervais" up there. My sister's an agent and she said some of the people she represents aren't exactly members of MENSA. 

 

I enjoyed the Oscars last year where there was no emcee. It seems an outdated concept.

Aren’t awards shows in general an outdated concept?
