Semi Approved at the Embassy today

Hi all,

Well the interview went pretty well today, apart from the fact that the Consular Officer needs an I-864 filled out by my Father-in-Law (who is a co-sponsor), an I-864A filled out by my Mother-in-Law (as a household member, and as they file taxes together her income is included in his), and an I-134 for my Mother-in-Law (not too sure why they need this one, but if they want it I'll send it in anyway!). Have contacted my in-laws and they'll be filling those out for me today, and then shipping over ASAP.

The other odd thing which occurred at the interview was that I didn't need to pay the $380 fee! When I asked about that I was told "Your wife will pay that", which seemed strange. Ah well, I'll post a full review of my experience later when I'm a bit less sleep deprived!

hmmmmmmm.........it is just a little delay do not worry just sped up the documents to get to you fast and you'll get your visa :thumbs:

03/29/2007 Got letter from USCIS to provide evidence that our marriage is bona fide

05/03/2007 I have an unofficial "PETITION APPROVED" ...waiting for confirmation from Consulate

05/07/2007 Received email from USCIS ROME confirming that our petition was approved (why Rome? because we complained to the District Office Rome about the Sub-Office Frankfurt..it took too long for our petition to be approved)...now waiting for the interview letter from the Consulate

05/18/2007 E-mail from IV Frankfurt, our interview was scheduled for May 29th

05/19/2007 Packet 4 in the mail: ja ja ja interview letter

05/29/2007 Interview at 7.30 a.m. APPROVED Thank you, God!

06/01/2007 Visa arrived !

Noticed you were asked for I 864 at interview on my papers received from London embassy it says if you sent I 864 to NVC you do not need to bring to interview. As my interview is on Monday I am now wondering should I have this - I do have a full copies of my husbands last three tax returns and the I 864 he sent to NVC will this suffice?

Bevray - I think my case I had used the wrong form - I initially submitted an I-864 for my wife, and then an I-864A for my Father in Law. According to the Consular Officer, I Should have submitted an I-864 for my Father-in-Law (as he is a co-sponsor), and an I-864A for my Mother in Law (as they are household members and file a joint tax return together). Thankfully as I brought copies of their 2006 tax return he doesn't need those.

Maydaydas - thanks for the support, I'll probably be able to get all the forms off to the Embassy by the end of the week at the latest, and then will hopefully get the CR1 back the following week! Nearly there! :thumbs:

I found those explanations on the I-864 of who should fill out which versions of the form completely incomprehensible, so I'm not surprised you had the wrong versions. Still it's good to know that you are nearly there!

Haha! I ditto the semi-congrats statement! Won't be long at all now, though - almost there!

I had a something like that happen to me, I had to re-submit the I-134 and supporting docs again. My now husband and inlaws filled them out and shipped them over express that night ( was a tuesday) I recieved them thursday, sent them up to the embassy friday, they got them tuesday, and they issued the visa thursday, had it on friday, and was in the US sunday! :P

I hope that you have just as quick a turn around!
