Hi, my children’s father was recently denied his I-601 waiver. He voluntarily signed to get deported. In 2006, he was given 10 yrs to not come back to the states. He filed last year for his I-601 waiver but it was denied. He was removed for criminal offenses it was non-violent offense but he was deemed an aggravated felony and moral turpitude. He did all the right things when he was back home he never tried to enter the states nor did he ever get in trouble again. What are his chances/ options now to overturn the denial. I feel the money we spent was in vain we supposedly got a top NY attorney but honestly it was and still is he’ll trying to get a phone call from them. Thanks in Advance

I did hire an attorney! He’s supposedly a great immigration attorney in NY. But I’ve had issues as far as communication with them. They’re hard to get a hold of. I know when we started the waiver process they would call us months after we would submit stuff to them( I would always ask do you need anything else) they would answer no (that’s whenever I would finally get them on the phone) only for them to call me 2-3 months later and say oh I need this or that. Mind you my children’s father isn’t in the country, and it’s easy to get things from there  and mail them. It’s very time consuming to get papers where he is. That would prolong the process further. Now he got denied I’ve called and left numerous messages with them. All I get from them is leave a message, the attorney’s are in court, the paralegal isn’t in yet or at lunch, they’ll call you by the end of the day. And nothing. I called them again this morning and it’s 3:46 pm already and nothing. They were sure quick to harass us for the 10’s of thousands of dollars that was spent already. My children’s father is scared to even get them upset cause he thinks they’ll withhold his papers if we go to another attorney. I’ve googled the reviews and apparently I’m not the only one that’s encountered these issues. I should of done my hw before going to them, but again they had a good reputation. I guess they have so many clients and money that they don’t care anymore. And trust me I’m not one to complain I’m one of those it is what it is kind of person. I definitely got a bad taste once they got paid. Does anyone one know of any attorneys that specialize in I-601 waiver denials.
