Two weeks since interview scheduled, no notice

On 12/23, my I-485 case status changed to “interview was scheduled”, but I haven’t received my notice in the mail yet letting me know when it is. It’s officially been two weeks now and it’s making me anxious because I don’t know if it got lost or what. I was trying to be patient at first, accounting for all the holidays, but I saw that some people who had theirs scheduled after me (12/30, for example) have already gotten theirs in the mail.

I tried calling USCIS on Friday, had no idea what hoops to jump through to speak with a representative, but finally got through to someone. I don’t even know if anything got accomplished; she said she sent a request to “the office” to let them know I have not received my interview notice. I asked if she was sending this to my local Memphis field office and she just frustratedly repeated herself without clarifying. I read that all interview notices are sent from Missouri (please correct me if I’m wrong), hence why I asked.

My USPS informed delivery shows that nothing from USCIS is arriving today either. I recently moved and completed both a USPS change of address (12/23) [in effect] and a USCIS change of address (12/18). I was supposed to receive confirmation from USCIS of my change of address by the 30th of December and still haven’t gotten it even though my husband received his in the mail a couple of days ago and we completed it later.

Should I be concerned? I want to call USCIS again today to see what’s going on with this confirmation number the representative gave me, but I would also just like to know the date of my interview so I can have a little more peace of mind and start preparing. Can one of their representatives not tell me until my notice finally arrives (if it ever does)? Any help?

Edit: I want to add, my in-laws live at the address I moved from, so my mail would still have been safe had it arrived there, but nothing.

Possible the interview letter was sent to the old address. Ask someone live at the old address if they got your mail . Even you updated address with USCIS, they will not updated it in the system.

Called USCIS again and the rep confirmed they have the correct current address on file, thankfully. I just never received a CoA confirmation from them for some reason. If I’m lucky, the notice might not have gotten lost and is actually in the purgatory of being forwarded to this new address, which apparently adds up to 5 business days to the transit time. Even if something’s gone wrong (i.e. first notice lost), it seems like my field office will make correspondence with me in regard to the request the previous rep put in for me. Just hoping I don’t miss my interview.

Just to make sure, try to contact someone currently live at the old address if they got any mail under your name. There are plenty of members report even they updated address with USCIS, call and got confirm the new address, and USCIS still send document to the old address.

Thanks for the advice. My mother-in-law lives at our old address (my husband and I moved into our own place), and I’ve been asking everyday since my status changed if she’s gotten any mail for either of us. A couple things have come, but not one thing from USCIS. Sad. It’s what makes me worry about it legitimately being lost.

Update: Copy of interview notice received in the post from USCIS today, bundled with confirmation of change of address in the same envelope. They explained that they have noted my new address, but could not change the address attached to my I-485. The copy of the interview notice has my previous address on it. I wonder if the first one was returned to sender as undeliverable even though my case status never reflected this (I have seen them update for other users to explicitly mention this if it has occurred).

Not sure what prompted them to

both confirm my address and include a copy of the lost notice at the same time - that is, whether they realised the mishap on their own accord, or the service request put in alerted them to this - but I’m happy to have finally resolved this stressor and can finally prepare for my interview both physically and mentally.

good luck with the interview! so i'm assuming they don't send a copy of the interview date via email? we're waiting for our interview date (got documentarily qualified Dec 4) and still nothing.  How long did it take from becoming DQ to getting an update saying an interview had been scheduled?  We also moved during the process, so thank you for posting this.  I'll call NVC and make sure they have the correct address on file.

My ignorance is showing here but I’m not actually sure what it means to be documentation qualified. Could you please elaborate? 🙂 My case status changed from “Fingerprint Review Was Completed” to “Case is Ready to Be Scheduled For An Interview” on 12/20, then the interview was scheduled 12/23 and they mailed the notice the exact same day (according to the “notice date” on the interview notice). After my last update, the first interview notice actually turned up in the mail on 01/11 with a nice yellow forwarding sticker in the corner. So...it wasn’t returned to them as undeliverable. I thought government letters were unable to be forwarded, but not this apparently. Keep in mind, this is all my experience adjusting status within the US. Not sure about getting in contact with NVC, but I got my K1 interview date via email from the consulate, not in the post. Good luck.

oh sorry, it's for a IR-1 visa once you've passed through the NVC stage, before you get an interview date.  I'm just not sure where to look for the interview date- a letter or email? i'll have to call NVC anyway to check the address on file.  Yeah, I didn't think govt letters could be either....?? good luck at your interview
