How do I answer this part If my joint sponsor files taxes married and jointly with his spouse, where it asks: "My total income (adjusted gross income on IRS Form 1040EZ) as reported on my federal income tax returns for the most recent years was:"

They don't file 1040EZ, just the 1040, is this asking for their individual income meaning I need their W-2s to find this out or what? Do the both of them have the same amount since they file jointly?

I'm so confused and stressed, please help.

No. It's asking for their joint income as reported on their taxes. You input their combined income in 24a-c and then submit the earnings statement(s) ie. W2s or 1099s along with the corresponding tax return Transcripts. They will see what the individual income is of the sponsor from there even though the combined income is input.

Do you know if the Tax return transcripts have to be from the IRS website specifically or can it be from a different source?

I ask because they get an accountant to do their taxes and then they get a copy in their email that includes every single form tax related in their email, but the problem is that they couldn't  make an account in the IRS website and give me the tax return transcript from there and the one they have is 120 pages long (I know, ridiculously long)

Is this still acceptable though?

The whole thing has their schedules, W2, return summary, 1099, 1040, and much more.

Yes. Only the IRS issues Transcripts as they are the official receipt that the taxes were submitted and processed. Actual tax form copies do not prove that.

I ask because they get an accountant to do their taxes and then they get a copy in their email that includes every single form tax related in their email, but the problem is that they couldn't  make an account in the IRS website and give me the tax return transcript from there and the one they have is 120 pages long (I know, ridiculously long).

You are referring to the actual tax return form copy here. That is not the Transcript.

Yes they are long and if you miss a page, schedule or earnings statement, it will be rejected. That's why they should order the transcript from the IRS.

Is this still acceptable though?

The whole thing has their schedules, W2, return summary, 1099, 1040, and much more.

Yes. BUT 95% of I864 RFEs are due to ppl submitting actual tax return copies. If you submit a thousand page document do you really expect USCIS not to lose a page?

Ill never reccomend actual return copies.

You can use the search bar and input I864 and RFE and my user name and you'll find hundreds if not more of the same RFE posts where ppl did not do their research or heed our advice here about transcripts.

But....it's entirely up to you. Just know how to fix it when you get an RFE.

One last thing.

It asks for the most recent tax year income but... since we're only in 2020 and the most recent one that they have is the 2018 one, would they understand that they don't have the 2019 one because they literally send the RFE for this at the beginning of the tax year or would they send another RFE asking for the 2019?

If so, I'd just much rather wait for that because another RFE is a no go, specially since we could be outright denied.

2019 is not most recent until after the filing deadline on April 15th, 2020.

Q:  4/15/20 is the deadline, but the processing is after that .. so say in 6/2020 they open the file and see the filing date is say 2/2020, but will they issue RFE?  I am in the same situation waiting for 2.2020 to file along with 2019 Tax transcripts.

=============
5/20/2019 - I129 Submitted

5/22/19 - NOA1

If your AOS interview is after the 2019 tax filing cut off you can prepare a new I864 with the most recent tax transcript (2019) however it will be up to the interviewer what they will require.

They wont issue an RFE if you filed before the cut off and only provided the Transcript for the most recent year as it waa current when you filed .

Do you have another question that you havent explained here? If so post your own post to avoid highjacking.

I am unsure exactly where to post this question but this year in about 4 months my fiancé and I will file our k1 visa

I am wondering what mailing method do you guys use to send your packet/info needed for the interview to Costa Rica? I’m worried it will not get to her properly and if it’s reliable to send through mail?

Your best bet would be to create your own post as adding it to this thread is highjacking.

Take a look at look at the Costa Rica country forum noting that the I-129F is submitted to the lockbox in Dallas and you are far off from having to consider your embassy process.

I cant answer for CR (so you should look through their forum) but at most embassies, documents are hand carried to the interview.

Likely our two posts will be removed so I suggest you end the query here.
